I Refuse To Be Ordinary

The Moderators at Classmates.com have pulled by Bio from public view, I can't really understand why?

This bio has been removed from public view because it may contain information that violates our Community Standards or Terms of Service.

For example, please review to ensure that your bio does not contain:

A web site URL

An email address or other personal contact information

Inappropriate language

Learn More.

The last 2 times I have written this Bio Mother has been beside herself saying, "Don't you get it, your supposed to be writing about your accomplishments and not your failures." I replied, "But Mother I don't have any accomplishments all I have is failures." At which Mother shakes her head and leaves the room in digust at her son.

Well this is the 3rd go so lets see if I can write something Mother will like. I have lived a life of complete moral decadence, have renouned all faiths save one and have become a man of wealth and taste, a changling. Now I am rewriting history to obscure the truth and I do it with delight. I have known the bitter taste of the man who had an epiphany on the road to Damacus. I have looked into the abyss of my soul and have gone willingily into its darkness. Once there have found the light within that transcends the soul. I am like the man who has traveled down a long and dusty highway fraught with danger, lonliness and unutterable grief only to come over the rise and find the promised land below. Once there to find peace within and the power of self knowledge. Ouuu Mother should like this, it has just the right touch of the metaphysical.

Well I can't say how disapointed I am. Mother absolutely hates what I've written she says, "What kind O (excrement) is that, your supposed to be writing about what a wonderfull family you have, great job, that your the all American success story not some kind of flaky New Age (Horse Pucky), nobody wants to hear that, they will just think your nuts..what the %&$@ am I going to do with you. Ummm maybe I,ll have to write your bio for you."

Tabs is a wonderfull son, he is a multi-millionaire, who retired when he was 36. He enjoys collecting Art and other assorted things, at which he has become proficient, and makes lots of money. Pursuing his hobby he has associated with other wealthy and famous people who share the same passion for buying cheap and selling high. Tabs also writes Political and creative commentary which has a devoted readship in the thousands, which has even reached the level of people who shape public opinion and policy in the World. Other than that Tabs lives a life of ease and relaxation free from any kind of worry in the world. Tabs is a totally enlightened soul, who I am proud to have as a son.

What's classmates.com? (I'll look at it later.) Anyway, if they don't allow that bio, then why do you want them? Time to find someone else to play with.

And you didn't even mention the stairwell incident!

Classmates is a High School, College Reunion website. Where U get to chat with your old buds for a fee.

U might say that the bio itself was helping them down the stairs.

Tabs... dude.... You're taking too much Diazepam.
Or maybe not enough. Either way, you may want to get that checked.

Don't you know that Classmates is for your high school alumni? You have to be a typical successful blue collar American to fit in.

No millionaire stuff!

It should read more like this:

After graduating from the local community college with a degree in foodservice dynamics, I became the night manager at the McBurger on the corner of 5th and Howell streets.

I'm recently through my second divorce, but got to keep my 1978 F-150. Currently I'm living at the Dixie Estates mobile home park on Lyndon Road. (That's lot # 15 if any of you hot women are available. No fat chicks.)

[paraphrased from an actual bio]

Classmates means nothing to me, its a blip on the Radar screen. I was more concerned that what I wrote would be lost. Thats why I brought it over here.

OK, Tabs, you win. I admit that I found the OT forum too late to have read your posts when you gave real biographical material. I was wasting my time over on the tech board, silly me. Anyway, with the poster formerly known as Paste gone and it is once again safe to go in the water, I ask with some trepidation for you to reintroduce yourself so that us Johny-come-latelys can get to know and despise you. I mean, get to know you so that we can better judge when you are being serious or sarcastic. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Ohhh Dear...quiet seriously thats what the others have gotten as well..I can hear the other laughing cause you are in the same boat as they are.

I think our Moderator Nostatus would do U a kindness if he would fill U in....he can be more objective about it than I can.

I'm beginning to lose respect for "Mother" -- first she doesn't seem to understand the financial risks to the dollar and the upside potentials for the gold market, now she doesn't seem to understand the subtleties of being successful.

Margaret Thatcher on the issue of being "powerful," but can be applied when it comes to the question of being "successful" too:

"Being powerful is like being a lady, if you have to tell people you are....you aren't."

Hmmm...Well that maybe, but if Mother in Tucson doesn't know about the risks to the $$$, I don't frankly know anybody who would..as one of the people she talks with frequently is the former head of the Fed. She even knows the guy he replaced back in the day.

Mother was lying about me, not a word of it was the truth.

Fair enough, Tabs. I do think Compe has a point about Mother, though. Don't you think you can get her into a nice community college to take a couple of courses in macroeconomics so she can learn basic currency/commodity valuation and do a decent ISLM curve?

I didn't see anything in there about Golden Nugget Prime Rib. If there were a Wikipedia entry for you, the Golden Nugget -- and other fine buffeting experiences -- might be a chapter in itself.

If she is listening to Paul Volcker, then, yes, I can understand her lack of understanding about the gold market. From Wikipedia:
"From 1969 to 1974 Mr. Volcker served as under-secretary of the Treasury for international monetary affairs. He played an important role in the decisions surrounding the US decision to suspend gold convertibility in 1971, which resulted in the collapse of the Bretton Woods system."

Of course Alan Greenspan understands the importance of gold -- or at least he used to. He wrote a number of articles in the past calling for a return to the gold standard. More recently he just seems to work very hard at being "non-understandable" -- maybe that is "Mother's" influence on him?

Mother doesn't agree with Paul. Nor does she always agree with Mr Greenspan.

If everybody in the world stopped and listened to everyword U said, you would begin to mumble alot too.

Tabs, what surprised me is that you bother with this reunion stuff. Whenever I get a reunion notice, it goes through the shredder, unopened.

I grew up in a smallish town in SO CA at a time when not many people moved in or out. So most of the people I went to Kindergarten wt I graduated HS with. I didn't see anybody for years, and wanted to see what had become of them so I went to the 30th Reunion. And thats about the extent of contact with anybody since the reunion as well. U can tell I wasn't exactly serious with Classmates either.

I did recently contact a gal I went to JC with. I wanted in her pants in the worst way back then. Today she is just another old Lady wearing a white sweater.
