Glad to still have my dad

My dad put his s2000 in a ditch during a rain storm on Friday. Doesn't normally drive the car in the rain, but made an exception that day.

Car hydroplaned where a parking lot dumps it drainage onto the road. It slid into a ditch and rolled, stopping on its roof.

He made it out with some staples in his scalp and a bruised knee. Glad to still have him.

Wow. Rolling a ragtop must be hella scary - good to hear he's ok.

Maybe he got some luck from my dad, who hit a train while driving a TR-6. I wish I had some pix 'cause it was easily the worst non-fatal accident I had ever seen and I drove a tow truck through college. A broken wrist was all..

That'll buff right out.

Seriously, glad that he's OK. That was a close one. I concur that you have a cool Dad if he drives that car, it's one of my absolute favorites. It looks like the car did what it should and sacrificed itself in service of the passenger compartment, are they all aluminum?

Thanks everyone. Pretty sure he's gonna be okay, mostly his pride hurt more than anything, the car was his baby.

If he had a mechanic I trusted in his local area, I'd try to talk him into a boxster S, but I did mention a cooper S to him. He'll prob end up finding a clone to the s2k.

I did think the same think, what a great donor for a lotus 7. Gotta find out that buyback price.

It didn't roll did it? Doesn't look like it. Glad he's going to be fine. I lost a sister and almost lost my other sister (I'm/was a triplet with the two sisters, and almost lost my brother (best friend) in one bad car accident about 35 years ago.

Glad he made it.

Would an S-2000 engine fit in a 944?
