Moms 50th, what to get her?

Mom turns 50 on the 23rd of this month. Lil' Brother and I don't have a clue what to get her. I was all set to get her the first season of Grays Anatomy but that just doesn't seem appropriate for such an occasion. Session at a day spa? Flowers + Chocolate? Im looking for the silver bullet of gifts here.

What say ye, oh men of wealth and taste?

Day spa all the way, and dinner with all her kids if possible. 50 is a big deal, especially for a woman. Make her feel special and pretty. Of course if she's not that type, they are racing at Bristol this weekend.

DAY SPA DAY SPA DAY SPA!!!!

Get her the works - a whole day of pampering and then definitely dinner with the family somewhere quiet and laidback as she'll be feeling very mellow after a day like this . Ask me how I know...

Cheers and happy birthday to your Mum!

Send her to an weekend out of town somewhere that includes a spa experience among other things. There should be plenty of nice venues around SFO. If she has friends/sisters have them get in on it so she is not alone.

She is the woman that gave birth to and raised you. Remember all those birthday parties she gave you when you were a kid.

Now THAT'S an idea Alf....

A good friend of mine organised exactly that for her Mum's 50th - everyone had an absolute ball (especially the birthday girl) and it was a birthday she'll never forget .

And can I pinch your line about "giving birth and all the birthday parties" to use on my 3???

After that, get her one of those automated digital picture frames that holds a bunch of digitals. Load it up with pics of her family from the time she was a newliwed to present. Moms like that sort of thing.

I reminded my mom that any day now her AARP application would be arriving.

Then when I turned 50, I reminded her that mine (her oldest son) had just arrived.

Yes, it's one of those relationships.
