This Must be One of Those Loonies...
"The debate is over. The science is proven." They tell us. "No reputable scientists now dispute Global Warming."

Now there is a United Nations report on it so we all should find a cave and move in...
Course the UN has no political leanings... right? Then wedged in the rear of the news broadcast was another expert on weather saying that all this "global warming" was just BS, and that the hurricane season was forcast to be as normal as its been in tens of years.

Oh, Mr. Gray is well noted on the list of kooks on the subject of global warming. But as Mr. Gray himself observed in a recent interview:
"I have nobody really to talk to about this stuff." was his response when Gray was asked who his intellectual soul mates are regarding global warming. From a Seattle Times interview last year... The Web site Real Climate, run by a loose group of climate scientists, recently published a detailed rebuttal of Gray's theory, saying his claims about the ocean circulation lack evidence. The Web site criticized Gray for not adapting to the modern era of meteorology, "which demands hypotheses soundly grounded in quantitative and consistent physical formulations, not seat-of-the-pants flying." The field has fully embraced numerical modeling, and Gray is increasingly on the fringe. His cranky skepticism has become a tired act among younger scientists. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2003040068_warming05.html Yep, that's the kinda doctor I want on my case the next time I come down with a deadly disease. I'll go with the guy that advocates no treatment, instead of the 99 guys that advocate treatment. Did you check out the guy's pic? He's gotta be 102 if he's a day - yep he's definitely the poster child for modern climactic science. OTH, he was probably around during the last ice age. Maybe we should listen to him... |

So, a guy who doesn't ascribe to "the modern era of meteorology" happens to be the most accurate at predicting hurricanes? It's not like the Seattle Times would have an agenda on this, being home to many of the most outspoken climate alarmists.
And when that fails, you can always insult a guy's age and looks. ![]()

Just like you've done in handpicking a lunatic that supports your view amongst the throngs of thousands that disagree with you. You use what you can. Oh, and it's not like Gray would have an agenda on this, being the brother of an oil company CEO. But actually, I never said anything about his looks - in fact he might even have a bit of a Paul Newman thing happening there. A Paul Newman's dad kinda thing. |

Thirty years ago, there were calls for spreading carbon black on the polar ice caps to delay the coming ice age.
Global cooling, doncha know. Caused by man, of course. My theory is that in another thirty years, global warming will be forgotten, but there will be something else about to cause the end of civilization as we know it. |
