I collect antique paper money. Here is a few examples -

I posted this same thread on Rennlist....kinda breaks it up and would be interesting to see if any of you guys have National bank notes from your hometown or from anywhere for that matter. I also buy them...I pay top dollar. Pm if you have some to sell.

That is pretty cool but it more than likely will go to OT.

I used to race sailboats, now I am just starting to learn to play electric guitar. I used to dabble in photography, and will probably get back into that one of these days.

Ancient pre-sate issued license plates.
Typically before 1915 you made up your own license plate:

1906 & 1913 Washington State plates:

Anyone have any of these from any state?

DarrylD, I have the #8 Astra I found long ago in one of our apts. I seem to remember it being a 900 though. maybe not. Damn, it's getting rusty. Haven't taken it out in a looong time. Time to give it a cleaning. My friend inherited a bunch of German guns from his father last year. As soon as I can catch him again, I'll get some pics to send you.

Nice woodworking!! Ever use pocket screws? Do your own turnings? My workshop (typical of the Southwest) is a bit small for a full sized lathe. But I do have just about every other woodworking tool known to man!!

I build furniture, dabble in electronics, have ground telescope mirrors, love to read, and go exploring the remote parts of the Southwest. Just about everything interests me, and I have tried a lot of things over the years.

No currency but I do have some cancelled bank checks signed by Frederick Weyerhauser of lumber fame and Joseph Huber of brewing fame - both were residents of Rock Island, Illinois in the early 1900s. I found them in the basement of an old bank building...
I build RC aircraft, mostly electrics, read WW2 histories, restore my circa 1919 craftsman style home, I have one pistol, an ancient Colt 1911 .45, low serial number - 17,xxx. Oh, and I like to tinker with this funny little car that has an engine in the...gasp...back!

Too many toys, too little time....

Regards,
