calling all carrera gt fans

well, here's my 10yrs old story. at least i felt like i was ten. i was on my way to see a movie in blackhawk yesterday. i saw a black carrera gt with yellow brakes. i was drawn and hypnotized by it. i was wowed in the presence of mighty carrera gt and of course i was speechless. holy goodness gracious what a car. my jaw hanged and started drooling. that was an amazing car seeing it in person. i guess the driver saw how i was admiring his car. he punched the throttle. the car just howled like mean beast and sped away. i said oh my! wish i was in it. he must've been on 2nd gear only. anyway, i am a fan. if you encountered or even driven one. please do share and don't be shy. thanks.

my boss has one (grey metallic), and it's pretty impressive, the howl of the engine is very very special I hope he gives me a lift someday

i do not particularly like the looks of it though to be very honest...

No need for apologies, my friend. That car brings us all to our proverbial knees. It is totally understandable that you double-pumped the enter key trying to share with all! I would have done the same! Human we all are!

The exotics do that to me too,,, even when I am riding the Busa,,, 'cept it's me that pulls away!

I was outside of Sarasota FL. last month when a GT passed me on the interstate. He was not going much over the speed limit but I swear you could hear that howl for half a mile down the road!

Nice video, thanks for the link. That looks like a factory plate "S Go 445" must be a fun job.

I think it's silly to drive like that. 2nd gear throttle steering with ample power is something most of us could do with a morning's practice. It's not the fast way up the mountain, that's for sure.

40 years ago I used to go out in the rain at midnight and slide whatever I had for a ride. There was absolutely no one on the road, so the only thing I could do was either hurt myself or do some property damage; maybe both. Fortunately, nothing like that ever happened before I grew up a bit and quit playing in the rain. We used to call it a brodie. (Actually a brodie was more of a half circle skid.) Now it's drifting and people pay to see it. Go figure.

Are you kidding? Drifting is the fastest way to drive! I live my life 1/4 mile at a time.

If drifting is the fastest way to drive, then why don't we ever see race cars in a race constantly sideways (on pavement)? Remember, I said "up the mountain," not through one tight corner.

The guy was just showing off and did some conservative sideways slides with lots of room to spare.. I bet he himself got a little worried on that one corner where he got within 3 feet of the stone wall. Sebastian Loeb would have left the color of his car on the stones.

And before you correct me about rally cars being sideways for extended periods, let me remind you that the trannys and drives on those cars cost as much as a used CGT. Very special cars of which there are no equals. Last I knew, the CGT was not an all wheel drive. The fastest way up the mountain is to drive the car with little wheel spin. If you still argue with that, then why is there such a big deal about traction control in racing?

Hell, even drag cars don't want any!

milt, keep in mind that the car is most probably on-loan from Porsche. He probably can't afford to 10/10 fly around a mountain road, literally. And it may not be the fastest way to drive, but I think it looks pretty cool when the ass hangs out a little coming off a corner and the engine's screaming. I wouldn't classify what he was doing as full-on drifting.

Yeah, sorry Milt- I forgot to use green text to indicate my sarcasm. You must not have seen the Fast and Furious- cinema at its best, I tell you!

Memories

LOL "brodie" haven't heard that one in a few decades

I could do a mean brodie on my Schwinn stingray

Doing donuts in the rain in a empty parking lot with dads Oldsmobile cutlass.

Dirt tracking moms Impala station wagon in the soybean fields.

and this generation thinks it invented "drifting"
