Finding a Nice 5 Series
Was a recent thread on finding a nice E30...but what about an E28, equally easy to work on or go E34? BMW novice here, but rather tall, needing something larger. What are the thoughts?

E28 is a great car, but the youngest one is now 20 model years old.
Good luck finding one with under 175,000 miles, and/or not worn out in at least a few significant ways. Particularly if you are looking to avoid the doggy 121-127hp 528e, and are focusing on the 533i and 535i. Those cost close to 50% more than a 528e back when they were new, so the vast majority of E28s sold were "eta" cars. But if you can find one, particularly a 535is with a stick, they are great cars. |
