the old man and his vette

he's old enough to be my dad!

actually he is. i got him this shot for his 61st b-day of me pointing him by at the bottom of 6 headed down the drag strip to 7 at sears point. relenting to the oldmans charge,,, again.

he's the only BAP not keeping a car thats model starts with 9, and he loves that his z06 is faster than most of us. 2x the horse power i tell him, thats something he should take for coffee....

it is a lot of fun tracking with my pops and the rest of the BAP boys.

If he was a REAL man , he would put his trailer back on that hitch, and then try to outgun his offspring.

He's a gentleman.

When I get my new tires, no more "point-bys" at Sears.

My kudos to the youngster...your dad! You see, he's wise enough to realize that yesterday was yesterday. Sadly, Porsche no longer rules. It just sells based on past glory days.... "Image is everything" marketing lasts only so long.

so trek, will i see these new shoes at laguna on the 9th, or sears on the 16th?

the hitch- he tows his tire trailer behind it. that and claims it "could" be used to pull him out of a sand trap..

the bike shot is the business card of the track photog guy.

Tire trailer, Terry Zaccone told me about a 914 guy that did that, he had a rig with a little platform for his track tires on the back of his 911

Toby,
Awesome pic!

Some of the best times I've ever had with my Pop have been on the track.

Possibly the best though, was when he and my mother drove 550 miles to do a one day track event with me on my 38th birthday last December at Thunderhill.

I didn't let him pass me though! (He was being kind )

actually my mom has started attending events with him now that they are both retired. she even helps do the tire swap out before and after events. you are correct in that it is very cool enjoying hobbies with your folks.

my mom actually fell in love with the cayman at one of her 1st events and now wants one. all part of the deal pops agreed to by making the vette more track dedicated, with all the suspension mods and roll bar he's done in the last 6 months.

they are only 20 years older than me, and now that is not such a age gap. they have gone from parents to some of my very best friends.

That Vette is FUN power no doubt! Being in the cabin, you really realize just how BIG those things are!

I am sure he'll be stoked on the shot T$.

(you do realize that you were adopted though right?)

I can relate. My dad is 85 and does the occasional track day. . That's him walking behind his Z4.

Hey, I know where there's a C4 '89 Corvette I can get for 5K. I've passed on it a few times already. It's exactly like this:

I'm 61, so should I get it? I could be almost as cool as your dad, but his is a much better car.
