Unhappy What now?

About three weeks ago I decided to dole out the cash to deal with a James Bond Smoke Screen producing 87 Targa. I have finally gotten over the dismay and grief of having to part with 8 grand. Once those feelings were gone, I was instead filled with the glee of knowing that I could idle at a stoplight without asphixiating any living organism within a 20 foot radius. Finally I would get to look "cool" in my targa without doing 3 Hummers worth of global warming in a 3.2 ......Well here is the pisser... I just broke my right ankle and some stupid little bone in my foot. DAMMIT.....Looks like I'll be in a full on cast for the next six weeks or so. Is there any hope of being able to drive before that? Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao

Carl

Tape a broomstick to the clutch and operate it with your left hand, while shifting with your right and steering with your teeth.

Sorry dude, sucks that you messed up your foot.

how high is your pain threshold? As long as the broken bit is immobilized(and the cast isn't too bulky), you should be able to drive.

Jus side step the clutch during take offs. Just rev her up to about 3000 rpm and side step.

Very sorry to hear about it, I feel(felt) your pain. But dont even think about it.

BTDT with plates and screws in the same ankle. You'll likely not have enough clearance for the boot (you'll probably get a boot instead of a cast if your gonna have surgery....) between the brake and gas.

Spent 2 months driving with my left foot in an automatic before I could take the boot off when driving.

It's too dangerous with it on, dont' try it. Might as well work from the perspective that you're a one footed driver for couple months.
