more lies from WH?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070405/ap_on_go_co/iraq_after_the_veto

On Thursday, the White House took the Democrats to task for focusing on items other than the war. "The Democrats ... spent the last four weeks cobbling together votes, adding $24 billion in spending for spinach and some tropical birds or fish and shrimp, things like that," said spokesman Gordon Johndroe, who was with Bush in Texas.

Yep, right.

I guess "things like that" means "$4 billion-plus for medical care for veterans and troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, up to $6.7 billion for more hurricane relief along the Gulf Coast and $745 million to cover shortfalls in providing health care to children of the working poor."

So whose lies are U listening to this week... The Democrats Lies or the Repblican Lies......

Thats what never ceases to amaze me on this Board is how so many people buy into one party or the others lies or call it spin by another name. Its like a magician doing slight of hand, keeping all the Rubes..Yes that means U.... preoccupied so you all don't get mad as he11 with the state of the Union. Their motto is keep em happy consumers...let em spend their way to the grave...

Thinking back where did the ROT set in...it goes back to LBJ and his Guns and Butter philsophy about the Vietnam War...what America is so rich we can have a war and steak at the same time and not even notice it. For the past 40 years the sham has worked... but with each step down the road America gives up not only its wealth but its integrity as well. America is fast becoming a shell of what it once was..the bell no longer rings true.

tabs..

America is rotting from the inside. Personality over principle is the watchword in Washington. Compromise is impossible.

If you or I point this out, we run the risk of being labelled one way or the other (or labeled many ways over time). The secret is not to give a schit.

The truth is there for people to see, but following one philosopy or another blindly is easier; they do not have to do the heavy lifting that actual thinking entails.

The number posting on how high taxes are; those who claim that somehow the "war" is the cause of all our problems.....those who advocate a certain direction at the exclusion of all other possibilities, and those who devolve into name calling when there is no answer to questions about their ideas......

A microcosm of the country, I am sure......

Completely agree with tabs. Make the masses buy into the two-party rhetoric B.S. and distract them from the real issues. (D) and (R) are the same at their core - seeking only power and money at the expense of the people they supposedly "represent". They probably all get together and play golf and drink Chardonnay while they laugh at how gullible and stupid the American public is to so readily buy into that game.

Agree with both of you. This has to change and eliminate both sources of crap. Both parties are rotten from the core out and only a complete overhaul will suffice.

yep, it's like being thirsy and walking into a convenience store and having a choice between only Coke and Pepsi.
they are both $**** drinks, loaded with sugar and caffeine, carbonated, will rot your teeth, and no nutritional value.

that's my analogy to Dems and Repubs... come election time, it doesn't matter who you vote for because the government always wins.

thank you

Bush complains that the Dems are not supporting the troops by pulling the funding.

Bush vetoes funding because of (pork) spending.

Bush accused of not supporting troops because he vetoed spending.

Hypocrisy knows no limits.....

Remove them all, and start over.
