Workorder traking programs
I manage a customer service center for a regional service company that provides service for several large property managers. I'm looking for a program that will help us track work-orders from these property managers and also can provide some automated reporting.
Right now we get work-orders emailed or faxed from a property manager for a location (1200+) and then we send it to one of our 30 offices. We also have to make sure it has been completed on time and report back to the property with a completion date. I'd like to be able to see what work orders are open at a glance or either a specific office or property manager. Automatic daily, weekly, or monthly is need too. Anybody had any experience with a program like this? Thanks

I don't know that anything is commercially available to meet your needs. This sounds more like a custom application to me.

At first I was going to build it myself in FleMaker Pro, but we have been so busy it would take forever for me to finish it.
With all of the different softwares ou there ther is got to be something that will work. I just haven't found it yet.

One of the property managers was using Maximoat one time. Not sure if they still are.
I think that Maximo may be a bit overkill. We're not tracking assets or maintance. We just need to manage workorders to make sure they are completed on time. Only one person will be using it at this time, not the entire company.

I have no experience with property managment, but if you're just looking for generic WO tracking then Quickbooks does that.

Looks like in order to close a work order, you have to invoice for it. We don't bill for any of these workorders.

I needed something like this for our shop's QC program. After fumbling around with MS Access for a few months, I hired someone to write a database for about $3000. It was well worth it since he thought of many things I didn't.

I believe there are hundreds if not thousands of apps available in this space. With 30 offices and 1200 work locations, I'm figuring that your needs are beyond the ultra-cheapie back of the magazine kind of stuff, but also not into the 6+ digit price points (like Maximo). Best bet is to access some of the industry vertical product directories, trade organizations or publications and go from there. A word of mouth reference from someone you trust, in your industry, would be golden.
