Support HD-DVD April 15th

I have become a huge fan of HD-DVD, and on April 15th, about 300 people are going to place an order with Amazon. It is our way of showing us support.

Thanks

Michael

I thought Blu-ray was better technology...

Which one has better porn?

HD DVD got the porn industry.

As for which one is better, is like asking which is faster a carrera or sc?

Everyone has a thought

Hard to believe one day's pumped up sales (which you know will drain other days' sales) is going to keep the format alive. Is HD DVD's future looking that dim already?

Why would you buy HD-DVD over Blu-Ray?

Incorrect.
There is already lots of Blu-ray porn in Japan and the two biggest producers of adult content Vivid and Digital Playground are releasing titles on Blu-ray.
Porn isn't the decider it was back in the VHS/Beta days - now the Internet is king.

As some have suggested in the AVS link that 1973911s provided, this is a desperate attempt to counter Blu-ray's momentum:
  • Blu-ray has much more Studio support. Seven of the eight major movie studios (Warner, Paramount, Fox, Disney, Sony, MGM and Lionsgate) are releasing their films on Blu-ray. Universal is the only HD-DVD exclusive studio.
  • Blu-ray has much more hardware support from consumer electronics companies, media manufacturers and computer makers.
  • Blu-ray has more storage space per disc (25GB versus 15GB for single layer and 50GB versus 30GB for dual layer).

Blu-ray is also outselling HD-DVD. Check out this link regarding everything from sales to cost and you'll see that Blu-ray is beating HD-DVD in every category with HD-DVD trending downward.

Blu-ray will win this "war", it's really a no-brainer. And the sooner that happens will be better for the consumer in the long run.

As I understand it, that's essentially what they've done with the PS3.

Heck, this could be the first format war Sony's ever won!
