ps: Not that these two are NC companys (I don't know), but THAT is the ticket... |
My wife's childhood friend's family owns Padows in Richmond, we get a shipment occasionally, wonderful peanuts...
I also agree on the TJ Blister nuts... |

A NiHi Grape also goes good with a Moonpie. Don't know where that stuff started. |

That's one of my all-time favorites! Pad Thai has the magic "peanut-celery" combo that simply rocks!! |
peanut sauce in padthai? are you sure you are not confusing the peanut dipping sauce found with the satay chicken? pad thai has chopped peanuts sprinkled thru-out, no nut sauce.
johan, for peanut love, try the chinese peanuts that you can buy at asian markets. the good brand has the (cliche) picture of a chinese dude carrying one of those rods with a hanging basket on both ends. he is wearing (even more cliche) one of those rice paddy hats. the peanuts are smaller, and packed with flavor. the texture is slightly chewy. yum. |
Vash,
Yep, the pad thai I've had has chopped peanuts on top with bean sprouts, noodles, etc..., but I mix it all together and the celery and peanut flavors combine in a magical way! Man, now I'm hungry! |
Thanks for all the tips, guys! The peanuts in coke or pepsi sounds like a great flavor combo.
After seeing that peanut joke thread a while back, I felt confident that the board would come through. here's my own tip: make a strawberry compote, mix in some salted roasted peanuts and serve over vanilla icecream. / Johan |
