Firefox 2.0 now with real time spell check
Freakin' cool. I just upgraded to FF 2.0, and it now has a built in spell check that puts a red line under misspelled words similarly to MS Word. For instance, the word "Freakin'" is underlined in this post both times. What a handy little feature.

I started using 2.0 about a week ago. Much improvement on an already superior browser, IMHO.

Boy you guys are slow! Only thing I have had happen, is accidentally adding a misspelled word. I have not figured out how to get rid of it. Get the IE extension. You can open IE in a tab under FF.

Ok i downloaded, wow that is awesome. I had been running 2.0 for a long time, but that extension is really cool. No need to run separate browsers for anything now

I've been using Netscape/Mozilla pretty much since I got on the Net in about '96 except for a few months several years back.

Thanks SloDave,
I have been trying to fix a situation where on some websites, using Mozilla and a widescreen monitor, I could not clearly view some websites as the text overlaps each other. These same sites are fine if viewed using IE. With the IE Lite Add-on, those sites can be set to open in IE automatically and everything is fine. Thanks again.

I have the older version, 1.7 I think. How do I update without losing my bookmarks?

So do I just download the 2.0 version or is there somewhere where I go to just upgrade?

www.firefox.com
v2.0.0.3 is a link on that page, 5.7MB download, then install. Firefox does the rest.

Wow you guys are slow! I've been using FF 2.0 for at least 3 months now!
![]() One thing I haven't figured out yet, is what happened to my bookmarks in the previous FF. My laptop crashed and they disappeared when it rebooted and went to the Mozilla start page, like it does when you install a new version of Firefox, only I hadn't changed my version. Strange. I tried everything but they never came back. So then I upgraded to FF 2.0, thinking maybe they'd come back...nope. No idea where they went. Dammit. ![]()

Whats strange is that FF does not automatically update to 2.0.
I just clicked on 'check for updates' while using 1.0 and it said everything was current. Mozilla never notified me that 2.0 was available. The new version is nice.

I've been using this for a few months now and it is indispensable. I also like the map feature - just highlight a written address and a map box pops up without opening a new window.
