Most days, no. Some days (like when I've been wrenching for 15 straight hours and still don't have the damn car back together. . . again) I might momentarily have a different opinion.

Oh Never
Worst row I ever had with my husband when he first saw my ratty 911 which I bought without talking to him about it first!
A year to sort out the paperwork.
On going saga of repair, maintenance and upgrade. Invariably at the most inconvenient moment for time and budget.
Fines for noise, parking, traffic violations, speeding which less visible cars minimise.

I think I should have bought newer, but my 82 has given me a lot of experience. Now the question is seell to upgrade at some point or 3.2, 3.6 conversion....

For the first two months of owning my '86, I didn't really like the car at all. A set of better tires up front, balanced, fixed the loose wheel bearings, and tightened up a few other things and I started to like the car.

I went from a raw early car with various sport options, new dampers and springs, to a no sport option all original and tired suspension equipped '86.

When the car got hit, and sent a rod through the bock, well sad day. I want it back on the road again though, and do not regret buying it.

Regret buying it? Only occasionally, but I get over it real fast. It's when you've spent two straight months wrenching, and you're tired of wrenching and just want to drive ... but good god, man, the driving is always worth it.

The worst part about owning a Porsche is knowing that no other car will ever measure up. People see my BMW and say, "Wow, what an awesome car!" And all I can think of is that it's not a Porsche. You may never recover from Porsche ownership, that's all I'm saying.

My first Porsche was a 924. I kept it less than a year. I was happy to be rid of it, and swore I would never buy another Porsche.

11 years later, I rode in a 911 for the first time.
1 week later I was a 911 owner, and I have never regretted a single minute of ownership.

The first month I bought my 79 930 I paid out $9000 in repairs and the car was a garage queen with 48,000 miles! The 512 only cost 6k more to put right.

Actually, the reverse! I didn't lose money on the deal since the car had been parked for over ten years, but after finding Pelican and doing my homework, I discovered the car was not worth the effort to restore to running condition.

I regret a 964 I bought new. Six months of problems before a friend took it off my hands. He still has it and never had a problem since I handed it over.
