Turkey hunters

I am not able to get out this season because my boss is a pole smoke. Anyone here a turkey hunter? Any luck this season?

Don't hunt 'em - I just don't have the property access. See 'em all the time though, in huntable areas, if I just had permission.....

True, numbers have been increasing over the last few years. IMO its odd. Farmers harvest every square inch of crop these days so there is actually less food then there was 5 years ago. Yet deer and turkey population is way up.

Course here in mid-Mo we have a lot more wooded area which also provides a lot of food for the turkeys.

The other day I met the UPS man in the hall at work as he went past I heard a turkey gobble about four times. I turned to look as the UPS man answered his cell phone. So get that ring-tone it'll cheer you up!

Season hasn't opened in Ohio yet and haven't been out but I'll post if I have any luck.

I'm seeing TONS more turkey as each year passes. Of course, most of them when I'm NOT hunting.

out of about 15 people, only (1) person got drawn for elk(bull) unit 6a outside flagstaff. other than that all of us got skunked on all other species.

as usual this sucks big time and our guns will continue to rot in our safes.

turkey population has exploded here in az. reason: its a lottery to be drawn, and habitat is better. and less hunters.

now if you want to see a hell of alot of turkey............utah zion national park! your lucky not to have one hit your windshield! you could actually wear out a nice shotgun there!

nothing better than nailing one on the fly at 5:30 AM! before he hits the trees!

I`ve never done the spring hunt, but the fall hunt is when it seems more likley for me to get out and blast one. Has anyone ever made a turkey call from the wing bone? Well it works quite well and I`ve made a few or more. Kind of vintage call if you now what I mean and you can decorate it to look rather woodsy. I hunt the northern hills of Missouri and they do taste good.

I almost hit one in the car the other day heading to work. Does that count as hunting?

Same here. Have two families roaming the hood as we speak. Better than Geese for sure.

Had a flock (?) of about 6 of these guys leisurely stroll through the backyard last month. Took their time, pecked at the ground, enjoyed the fresh air, hopped onto the back deck, peeked in through the door, and then hopped off the deck and continued on down the street. Wonder if they'll be so bold come November.

charleskieffner - thought the plug was for migratory game only (or rather, on the fed level). Does your state have the restriction as well?

3 rds in your shotgun! PERIOD! no ifs ands butts forget me nots!

2 in tube and 1 in pipe!

now just picture my favorite HK shotgun w/pistol grip, 9-rd tube, side saddle and a bandoleer of 55 rds!

do ya think they check me?????? all the time!

anything game here is 3-rd limit. now for mass killings.........9rds is ok?

why do i have 9-rd tube instead of stock tube. one of those had to have before prices roared thru sky beat the assault weapons ban deals. but it takes but a second to remove either 9 rd tube or aluminum rod (hk) plug.

more fun than a barrel of monkees come dove or quail season. 21" barrel is quick and fast. 28" barrel PITA in brush.

fastest shotgun in the world.....documented 5 rds- 3 seconds.

so what that means..........i will get the bird on the fly, it just might take 3 rds each time! LOL! and i get to drag back to truck a bunch of empty shells in my pocket. but what the hell what isnt expensive anymore????

try shooting 3" magnum double OO with rem 870 w/pistol grip.............ouch!! make that mega ouch ouch!

try shooting same double OO buck magnum from HK single handed w/pistol grip.............huge difference instead tearing arm off. ask me how i know! very smooth action make that incredibly smooth. can shoot all day long even magnums. got mine for $949 back in the day. makes a rem 870 look and feel like a cavemans club!

why cops dont carry them in cruisers is a mystery! unreal firepower unplugged w/sabots/buck etc. comes w/ 5 different chokes.

the only thing not on it is the ghost ring sites. decided to give bad guys and birds a break for once hahahahahaha!
