Looking for "GOSTRAIGHT" - Got Somethin' Fer Ya
Hey Radu,
I only know you through the Mullholand King of the Hill thread and a couple of other photos in other threads. I know you are a dog lover (as am I) since I have seen more than a few photos with you and your charasmatic doggy. I got an email from a family member the other day. With a photo and the following caption: Hercules was recently awarded the honorable distinction of Worlds Biggest Dog by Guinness World Records. Hercules is an English Mastiff and has a 38 inch neck and weighs 282 pounds. With "paws the size of softballs" (reports the Boston Herald), the three-year-old baby is far larger and heavier than his breed's standard 200lb. limit. Hercules owner Mr. Flynn says that Hercules weight is natural and not induced by a bizarre diet: "I fed him normal food and he just grew".... and grew... and grew... and grew. Here is the picture that they attached. ![]() I just figured that you need to be aware that you, your pretty girlfriend, and lovely dog are making your way over the internet. ![]() Hey, I am going to possibly be in the area to try out Mul Dr. after the Monterey Historics. Maybe I will get a chance to meet you guys then. Or drive down from the Historics with your group. I think lfot or slodave mentioned that you guys were going. See ya. ![]()

I got this in an email today and immediately said BS!!!
Straight off the Urban Legends site "Comments: I urge anyone who thinks this photograph is real -- or even might be real -- to visit a psychiatrist. Right away. Thanks to Photoshop, the dog pictured here (which appears to be a Neapolitan mastiff, not an English mastiff as claimed) is roughly twice its natural size. Back in 2001, Joe Flynn, the owner of a 282-pound English mastiff named Hercules (see photo), was indeed told by a representative of Guinness World Records that he had the world's largest dog. This is not the same animal. " http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_hercules_worlds_biggest_dog.htm

Here's the thread that I started. Gostraight/Radu and Bentley I wonder how many of these threads we'll end up with. BTW, here's the real stats on the dog in the pic above. "Not an English Mastiff, but a Neapolitan mastiff @ 175lb can clear a 5ft fence...He also wears a 29' collar"

hey guys, I don't know how I missed this thread... As Steve (masraum) meantioned, that pick was just meant to put a smile on Kei's face. Apparently it has done that for a lot more people than originally intended. Pelican is actually the first and only time that pic was out a public forum. ...A few days ago I got the notorious e-mail from a friend and I thought I'm being Punked so I ignored it. Steve(masraum) PM'd me with a link the following day and It's been all over since...
Anyway... Scott, definitely hook up with us @ Laguna and come down for a Molholland run... We had a good one last weekend, chasing Banning's Testarossa. This was one of the other shoots ![]() and also on the driver side door . I should note -NOT ACTUAL SIZE ![]()
