Calling guitar players - a luthier has lost his home

Bill Chapin of Chapin Guitars has lost his home and shop due to a natural gas explosion that happened yesterday.
Hell, I just spoke to Bill, and just yesterday, at that, about some orders he wanted to make from me. Well, those orders will become donated.

There is a user here with a 951 for sale. I am heavily considering scraping up funds and making him an offer and donating the car to the family.

Bill Chapin Disaster / Help Center

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Folks,

There has been a natural gas explosion at the home of Bill Chapin. Everyone is safe. His wife, Liz, and he were out of the house, and luckily their boy was at day care.

Bill was in mild shock, as to be expected, but otherwise OK. The red cross has taken him and his family to a shelter until things get sorted out.

We are not sure exactly what their needs are at the moment but they are out of their home and Bill has lost his workshop. There is nothing to do for the moment but we at DestroyAllGuitars will keep you posted and will be organizing a relief effort for Bill and his family.

As soon as we are fully aware of their needs, we will update all, start to rally the troops and let everyone know what is needed and where donations can be made.

Please keep calls and emails to a minimum as we need all lines open and as much time as possible to sort things out. We will pass on info as it comes in.

Below is a report from their local news station:

Explosion Rips Open House
CANBY, Ore. - An explosion Thursday morning left a gaping hole in a Canby house.
Firefighters were reportedly checking a natural gas leak and ventilating the home on Sycamore Street when it exploded.
A firefighter was burned but was able to walk out of the house on his own.
