Son gives his dad a car (video)

Not a Porsche but a nice gesture...kinda nice to watch, wish I could do something similar.

Cool,

I gave my brother that exact car for his wedding.

My buddy and I spent 6 months building it for him.

Those things are beasts.

That's not a classic car... it's a hot rod.
To me, a classic car is a nicely restored original.

That is a debadged, dechromed, tragedy - devoid of it's originality and personality. It's a big, boring, blacked-out sled.

Oh, and somebody call 1985... I found their wheels.

Wow. I think you are missing the point here. Yea, the car might not be what you think as a classic but the Dad seemed pretty happy. Thats all that counts.

Jury's in. You missed the point. That was a great video, and has nothing to do with cars at all.

Jim, Slow, and anyone else that got their little-girl feelings hurt:

I watched the video and I didn't miss the point of the video - I just don't care that the guy gave his dad a car. Good for him, and good for him posting it so that everyone in internet land knows what a good son he is. Nothing wrong with self aggrandizing, I suppose.

As I don't care what little Johnny does, and since most of us are car enthusiasts, I thought it would be acceptable to post my opinion regarding the car.

I'm sorry that you guys can't cope with a thread that covers more than one aspect of the topic being discussed. I thought that was pretty much de rigeur in the OT forum. (I guess you don't look at any of the political or religious threads - only the feel-good threads.)
