Anyone ever actually "talk" to someone at Ebay?
I'll be brief. This is are very unimportant topic, but hey, when you bored, you need things like this to occupy your time. I got shafted on Ebay last year by a buyer who dissapeared when it was time to pay. I issued a nonpaying bidder strike against them so I wouldn't get charged for the auction and relisted the item, which I then sold for $100 less then the bidder this deadbeat outbid in the final minutes. This "buyer" then threatens that if I don't remove the strike (if you have 3 or more, you get suspended) they will leave me negative feedback. I wouldn't and they did. Totally bogus, right? I complained, and complained. Didn't get anywhere. Low and behold, Ebay now has a policy that anyone that wins a auction, doesn't pay, and then has a nonpaying bidding strike levied against them, can't leave a feedback ratings. Seems fair, finally. I have been trying for the past week to get them to review my situation and continually get the computer generated replies. I'm tempted to call them and get an explanation, if that is possible.

I prefer dealing with brick and mortar establishments manned by flesh and blood people. Ebay is, in my mind, to be avoided at all costs, although, according to the spam I get, I have bought and refused to pay for a number of things...Must have an active life on line while sleeping.

Never needed to talk to anyone...yet at EvilBay. Most issues have been paypal related, which is owned by the evil empire. Of late Paypal has been pretty good at answering the phone and answering questions.

Ebay does have its problems......but I think it really helps to drive down the overpriced items that you really shouldn't have to pay too much for. I just bought a brand new bluetooth earphone for my phone for $11. Most likely cost dollars to make. Why should I pay Verizon $60 for the same set. Same with SD cards.

Pay Pal could care less about you or servicing any account. Once they have their money you are dead meat. Everytime I have a problem with PP I simply call AmEx and tell them to decline the charges, and the reason why. They do so immediately, then PP is left scrambling because they paid the seller his money already. Its worked everytime and the only way I know of to have any control over either Ebay or PP.
