If I had an open line to "Max"? Well, guess I'd better not post what I'd say..
|
1. Get the stupid "ran over cat" diatribes off the gumball thread
2. Porsche hits Golf, 2 in Golf die, 2 in Porsche walk away... don't think I'll be buying a Golf anytime soon 3. driving way too fast on public highways not a good idea no matter how you cut it, no surprise there |

For those of you with some semblance of an open mind, here's an update from one of the guys running (Not a rich-boy wanker, if that matters. He was in a minivan, not an exotic).
http://jalopnik.com/cars/commentary/fast-as-a-shark-east-of-eden-the-fall-of-the-gumball-3000-258147.php "What I do know is this. The Macedonian roads on the proscribed route would be hell on cars like that TechArt Porsche. Our diesel Sharan was as fast as just about anything on those byways. And if, as the CoPilot people suggested, we were on the route that ultimately claimed the lives of the Cepulyoskis, I'm willing to believe Cooper's claim that Morley was in the neighborhood of the speed limit." ... "Yet it was a sticker-covered sports car driven by two wealthy Britons. It's news. Because those two Britons were scared ****less of a Macedonian jail, even if it was the elderly couple who pulled out of them when the Porsche had the right-of-way, it's not hard to understand why Morley and McConville ended up running. In such an accident in the United States or the UK, one generally knows what to expect. People have posited that the guys deserve to die in prison for running." |
sorry Jon, but if you're that worried about how the legal process works in such or such country, then don't go there...
this excuse making of the Gumballers to me is meaning less we all know they drive around speeding in group it's not disputed, they even posted the videos' now they shouldn't go crying that A they have a bad rep B they are afraid of the legal system they face, in a country they went to for a fun trip the likes they can no longer do in the more civilized countries they wanted adventure? now they have it. trying a second time to leg it, is just going to add to the adventure when he no longer get bail... |
Next we'll hear about a team of British mercenaries hired to break them out.
They can call Mark Thatcher for a referral--he should know a bit about mercenaries and third world prisons. :D |

You have it backwards. They paid for something, then found out to their surprise that the locals had changed the rules on them. The whole thing was sordid from the get go, but at least a bribed police department should have the courtesy to stay bribed! Look, it's just more evidence on the heap--these guys are gonna get railroaded. |
according to your assumption that they payed for it, i only say "that's what you get when you rely on corruption, it can backfire just like that"
