Melinda Doolittle - Have a Nice Day!

Have a Nice Day!

I can't get this damn song out of my head. Doolittle is the next Donna Summer, the next Tina Turner.
She sang it better than Bon Jovi.... Enjoy:

OK, I'm watching Warriors playoff games when this show comes on but if she doesn't win, it's just wrong.

i thought Mrs. Shrek was horrible with that song. Funny how we all hear things differently.

i did enjoy blake's gig though. even better than his singing though was the arrangement. the american idol staff/band can't re-arrange a song to save their lives but blakes arrangement (i assume he put it together) was obviously done by someone with a good ear (again, i assume blake put it together).

I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.

Ya, she should win. If not, she will be big anyway.

Actually, I thought Blake Lewis' version of You Give Love a Bad Name kicked some pretty serious ass...mostly because it took HUGE balls to try and pull that off under those conditions.

I've got a couple of thoughts on AI. Bon Jovi??? What's the matter, Poison was too busy doing a rib fest concert? I've never thought of them more then a schlocky 80's band and it seemed unfair to make the contestants find 6 decent song to sing. What about that song they sang last night. Yeah, thats going to be a big hit. As far as Doolittle, she is so much better then the rest, its kind of boring. I didn't actually like the song she sang last night. Wasn't her kind of song.

+1

And I was blown away by Melinda as well - the girl has pipes.

Sorry you feel that way. It's pretty decent entertainment to watch with your 14 year old daughter and nice to see a few people get to realize their dreams.

Sorry Don, art and music cause your iq to drop quickly. Exposing your 14 year old to anything other than reading, writing, and arithmatic is pretty much child abuse.

I thought the moment between Melinda and Simon was quite touching. I haven't watched the show at all but have caught a few of the numbers on youtube (that way you miss all the other nonsense). I liked Melinda's version of Funny Valentine a few weeks back as well. Great low notes...

Melinda has put up better performances than some of the "stars" that make guest appearences.

I think the rest of them have been competing for second place for weeks.

Melinda has to win, the credibility of the show depends on it. Setting personal preference for style aside she is by far the most competent, complete, technically proficient and all around natural performer out of the bunch.
