The DB4 in the Los Angeles Concours June 3, 2007

If you have nothing else to do go to the LA Concours on Sunday June 3rd, actually its in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. I've been asked to put the DB4 in the show as part of a yet not announced Aston Martin class. I'm also a judge but I don't know what category I'll be judging, probably British sports cars, but not Aston. Here's the link http://www.laconcours.com/home.htm You can see how NOT Concours my DB4 really is. Its an OK car from about 10 feet away. Hey, its for charity.

Was a bit concerned when you put the crank in and it did not turn very well, so glad that its running fine now.

Hope you have fun at the show!

Joe

PS Will be in and out of the UK for the next month or so. If you need any special Brit car parts from here hand carried back home, let me know.

Hey Thanks Joe

As it happens, I'll be in Prague and then London most of July.

Yeah, it turned tight (1.25 to 1.50 thou clearance on all 7 mains), but after I spun it a few times by hand and then with the starter motor before putting it in the car it turned fine.

Oh wait, it HAD to be the oil dipstick heater that makes it run soooo good. Great looking car, and as always; Bond, James Bond.

Hey That dipstick actually came in handy on initial startup. I still have it and the package you sent it in. If you want, I'll gladly mail it back to you along with a few bucks for the postage that you so kindly paid!

Man that is one good looking car! If I didn't have a hot lunch date Sunday afternoon (that would be highly imprudent to cancel) I would be at the Rose bowl this Sunday.

Talking

I won a friggin trophy! 3rd place, in the Aston Martin class, which is just fine with me. Honestly, I thought several of the other Aston's were much better. Met up with Techwennie (Bill) and Kevin and a few other local Pelicans and walked the show. Sorry I didn't take too many pictures. I'm fried from the sun, brought sunblock, but forgot to use it. I'm posting this on the Aston Website as well. Sorry for the quality of the photo, but an acrylic block is hard to photograph.
