Stoddards Swap & Show

Has anyone ever gone to the Stoddards show? Is it more of a car show than swap...or are there a lot used parts vendors? I have to drive 9 hours to get there from TN and wondered if it is worth the trip if I'm going mainly for the swap meet.

Thanks!

My opinion, it is a nice show, but not all that special or big. I only have to drive 25 minutes to get there. Personally, I wouldn't drive 9 hours.

I think of it as a nice local or regional show. People from NE Ohio & western Pennsylvania attend. It is definitely worth attending from those areas.

Having said that, I go mainly to see some nice cars & maybe pick up a book or something. I am not trying to restore a car. Perhaps you would find value in the parts being sold.

The first year I had my car -- 2001 -- I went to the Friday night toy/literature sale. It was at a hotel near Stoddard's & it was pretty nice. However, I went to the Friday night sale a couple years later & it was very, very disappointing. I tend to go Saturday only.

I can't compare it to other swap meets because I have not been to any others.

Bottom line, I would not go if I lived more than 2 hours away.

Thanks for the reply. We went to Hershey for the first time this year and it was HUGE! We barely covered all of the swap meet and never even got to see the show cars!

How much smaller is Stoddards vs. Hershey? Half the size, 1/10th or ? Are the swap vendors primarily 356, late 911 or ? We're primarily into early 911 and 914's.

Thanks!

I haven't been to Hershey (yet), but I imagine the Stoddard meet is MUCH smaller. I don't think it is in the same league at all.

Have been to both recently and Stoddard now is maybe 1/10 the size of Hershey. My two + hour drive is barely worth it to me. There are still typically a few nice cars there (356's to new 911's)and there are some folks selling stuff, but it does not compare with Hershey. About 15 years ago, I went to the Stoddard meet and back then, it was maybe 1/4-1/6 of the size of today's Hershey meet.

Unless you really like road trips, it just is not worth 9 hrs of driving to get to.
