				converting dvd's to .avi?

what software do you guys use for this? stability more important than user-friendliness but i'd take both if i could... this is for a pc (please save the mac speech... i know...) free downloads or 'paid for' doesn't matter...

Go to download.com and search for 'DVD Shrink'. It's free, very easy to use (read instructions after downloading) have not come across a DVD that it will not convert/copy, not that I do!!!!! Will place into D drive when done. Hope this helps.

I have come across many DVD's where Shrink will not work. I use DVDFAB Decrypter Platinum now. Great software. DVDFAB Platinum is the only thing I have found that will break the new Sony protections. To convert to .avi I use MediaCoder and/or Videora. Both have been fine
