Spare $100 to spend on a toy -- what would you get?
I devour sites like engadget and thinkgeek and slashdot, prowling for cool toys and other crap I don't need.
I've been through PP, and there's nothing I've found that I want that I haven't already bought myself. Nothing has stolen my attention this week, and I'm getting twitchy. I've got a 360, and I'm going to get Forza 2 (and steering wheel) soon... but that's going to be well north of $100. I know in this redoubt of gearheads and gadget freaks I will find inspiration. So -- if you had a spare hundy lying around, what toy(s) would you get or have you gotten for yourself recently? No, blow-up dolls and similar paraphernalia or devices are not interesting to me. (looking at LubeMaster) And this is a self-indulgent expenditure, so there will be no $100 donation to charity. (looking at Supe, et al.) Best, JP |
If U ain't spendin 5K on a toy it ain't gona be ****...might as well buy a towel to wipe youself off with for that kind of money.
|
Oh, I'm spending $5k on each of two toys (Mini and Alfa) this season. I just want some cool gadget/device/whatever that I haven't yet discovered.
I'd love to buy the guns you buy (but not so much the artwork) but it's not in the budget. Frankly a severely cool $250 thing would be snapped up, but I had to start at $100, expecting my typical 250% overspend. JP |

Start lookin at some auctions, there is no tellin what U will find. Be warned once U start you never stop. U will soon realize payin retail is for fools. |
It's not a toy, it's a hobby... ;)
|
100$? Hmmm. You could get a few cases of some
1) serious engine oil? 2) How about 10 oil analysis kits? 3) a parts washer? 4) A couple dozen aerosols of brake cleaner, solvents, penetrants and antisieze? 5) a couple OilSafe containers |
Havoc Heli...buy three and don't look back:cool:

I'd get a night vision device. You should be able to find a used gen 1 monocular on eBay for $100-200. Maybe another $10 for an IR filter for your flashlight. No practical purpose, but I'd like to have one.

How about 28 gallons of gas?
|
Tacpoint (clone of the high dollar Aimpoint) red dot sight. The Japanese made ones are reported to be just as good as the real deal. Google Tacpoint for many reviews/info. With a quick search I found this one for $159.00, but I have seen them for less. http://www.shotplus.com/shop/product.php?productid=16157

A nice layered pigskin tip, professionally installed, for my pool cue comes to mind.

Yugo SKS 7.62x39, Yugo 8mm Mauser, Mosin Nagant 7.62x54 each are workhorses and can be purchased for approx. $100. Go to Gunbroker.com and find any toys that you might want not only guns......

Keg of beer & cooler full of steak. Call friends. Enjoy.
It may not be a toy that you can keep around and play with, but it is still plenty of fun for the money. |
I'd use it as a down payment on a class III permit and then save up for a suppressor.
