WTF, Hockey finals in June?

They really need to redo the schedule so the meat of the season is not eaten up by NBA playoffs, Spring Training/Opening Day and SUmmer.

It is my hope that the series goes 7. Now I must root for the team that beat my Devils but that seems unAmerican and since Emery may be the weakest goalkeeper to ever play for Lord Stanleys Cup i must therefore put my energy into the unlike;y Ducks.

Let them skate faast, hit hard ,shoot straight and deke the snot outa the goalies.

From all the time hockey takes (wastes) on SportsCenter, I presume the hockey season lasts around 11 months.

I was hoping that my Penquins would make it farther but losing to Ottawa is no big shame. Sad fact is that unless your team is in a race for the cup, no one really cares. I don't even know what channel its on.

Every single prediction I've read so far says Ottawa in 6. Then again, those are all Canadian media outlets, so I'm sure they're biased! Even still, I'll go with Ottawa in 6.

But after watching a bit of last night's game (only caught the last half of the 3rd period) I'm not so sure. Giguere is damn good. Really damn good. Absolutely brilliant in the last few seconds. One of those moments where I was almost standing on the couch, howling, pulling my hair out!

He's not even close to the worst. Go back a few years. And I assuem you mean weak in a goaltending sense, because if ANY player on the Ducks tries to drop the gloves with him they will regret it.

Wow, several American comments. Must be transplanted Canucks. Are you the the five people watching NHL on NBC?

Ducks in five. They're too big and too much for the Sens.

Or I could join the bandwagon and say Sens in 6.

I had the Ducks in 7. Defense and grinding beats high-fallootin' scorers most times. Pronger/Niedermayer vs Redden/Phillips?... no contest. Alfredson/Heatley/Spezza are overrated and Getzlaf/Penner/Perry are underrated. Add Guigere>Emery and it might be Ducks in 5 or 6.

Lets go Sens. I ****** hate Chris Pronger, and Guigere must not have gotten the memo on downsizing his goalie pads like everyone else in the league.

I don't see the "Mighty Ducks", yeah, I'll still call them by that lame name, don't have the steam to keep playing like last night as the series continues. Game 2 will be interesting, I am betting the Sens will look a little different.

One thing that has bothered me all season, and especially during the play offs is the random ass reffing. Some of the calls and no calls have just been totally bizarre.

Yup, too many phantom trips and slashing/hooking penalties that I wouldn't call in a game of nine year olds.

And Jiggy's equipment only looks big. It passed inspection last week, and you can be sure there will be a post-game inspection at some point in the series. Ottawa has been crying about his size for week now. They made their point and the league will check up.

I didn't realize they checked it already. I have just been disapointed with the level of sportsmanship the Duck's showed in their series against MN and Detroit.

Ok, I'm officially revising my position - Ducks in 5. It'll all be over tomorrow night. They're just way too much for Ottawa.
