Watching it on TV here in town and Alonzo was a bit quiet on the radio while doing his cool down lap. Not sure that he is really accepting that the young pup is in front of him.

Really hope that Alonzo does not do something silly trying to get in front at the first corner tomorrow and knock both of them out of the race. Bet that Ron will have a talk with them about it...

I don't believe Alonso would do anything daft, he's far too smart for that. Here's to a good clean fight!

It looked like Alonso was faster until the last sector where he made a bit of a mistake - should be a good race.

Just watched the race - it was entertaining.

Did Fox's treatment of the podium and other after-race stuff NOT surprise anyone else?

Ugh. Yeah, the prerecorded Whatever at the Winn was so important to be popped into their VCR on time.

Ugh again.

Alonso was having some issues out there. He went off four times in one corner alone.

Hamilton is amazing to watch. I think Alonzo has seen his last championship.

How about that horrific accident! I thought Kubica could not have survived that head-on hit right into the wall. His car just exploded when he hit it and when he and his car stopped (laying sideways), he was not moving at all. Pretty scary accident.

Even better:

Quote:
A statement from the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur in Montreal where BMW-Sauber pilot Robert Kubica is currently hospitalised has confirmed the Pole is not in any serious danger following his terrifying accident in today's Canadian Grand Prix.

The statement read:

'Mr Kubica has undergone all the necessary medical examinations and we don't foresee any further treatment will be required following the accident. He is suffering from a light trauma to his brain as well as a sprain on his left ankle.

'His condition is therefore judged to be stable and we don't have any fear for his life. Mr Kubica will remain in hospital and his state of health will be re-evaluated tomorrow morning.'

Yea, that crash was reminiscent of Greg Moore's fatal crash. Very frightening.

I thought the TV coverage was very very good
lots of mid pack action and very little of ham alone in the lead
good use of replays in a action filled race
in short better then speed or CBS last year!!!!!!

I had the race on our sports station here, TSN. It was available in HD, I flipped back and forth to see the difference, obviously great in HD but the picture on the regular feed was actually the best I had seen this season... Great race!

I normally hate the races that aren't on Speed, but that one was great.
"Brought to you on Fox by ING" - OMG would have been more appropriate.
I, along with many others I guess, had that sick feeling in my stomach that we would be hearing some bad news about Kubica. But was delighted to hear that he was OK. Then watching Sato in the Super Aguri pass Alonso in the McLaren...I laughed so hard I nearly missed that well deserved win. We all knew it was coming, what a great driver.

umm, this essentially was the Speed broadcast. Same team, same feed. Only difference was the broadcast network and the shorter time slot. Thankfully Fox left the thing pretty much alone.
