Send the bike designers home.....
There's really no need for them to keep trying. The sexiest bike even created is here. I took the picture below to a church, and placed it on the alter. A light shined down from above, and a thunderous voice said, "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMNNNNNN!"
Sat on one in the dealership yesterday. Its even better in person.

Looks like Rosie O'Donnell sat on a perfectly well-proportioned bike and squooshed it. Yuk.

Back half looks like it's from a different bike. Out of proportion to the front. Almost looks like someone slapped a moped rear clip on it.
Sorry, don't like it at all.

Sorry, don't know why, but that particular Sport 1000 doesn't do "it" for me. Somehow, I liked the original ones in yellow and monoposto better. Not sure why those 2 little details make such a big difference for me. However, I sat on a leftover Paul Smart a couple days ago. While I can see that position getting rough after awhile, it didn't feel too uncomfortable. And it's a gorgeous work of art. All the details are even more incredible in person--up close--than in pics. The 1098 Tricolore also gave me goosebumps.

I agree, too much modern architecture to pull off the retro thing.

That's why there are so many options. Nobody has the same taste. Sorry HardDrive, that Duc does not speak to me either. I'm really missing my Speed Triple, another love/hate style, and may find one between my legs again sometime soon.

"...nobody packs as much emotion between two wheels than Ducati. Nobody."
Taken from a 1993 Motorcyclist article comparing the then-new 900 Monster and 888 SPO. If you feel the calling, go for it, Harddrive.

Looks like a new version of the old ugly bikes from the sixties.

Calling a Royal Enfield ugly?!?!?!?!
That does it. Pistols at dawn. Bikes, just like cars and women, are certainly an individual taste. The picture does not quite do it justice. The bike looks very muscular when you see one up close. Its like a little bull.

A friend recently emailed about selling his (race modified lightweight) '73 RS...why? Well yeah, the crazy money they get. But he also mentioned, he wishes for the cars he has today to pass "the 500 mile test". Meaning, screw "image"...he now wishes to be able to drive a P-car 500 miles without crawling out & crying for his chiropractor.
Should there be a similar test for bikes, or is image more important than function?

Very pretty bike, equality. I'm not a fan of ape hangers, but the rest of it's quite nice. Love the springer front end, laced wheels, small single headlamp, slash cut pipes, simple solo seat, and bobtail rear...and I'm not a Harley guy by any means.

That ain't no bobber. Hell, the fender isn't even bobbed. And what's that I see? Electric-start only??! Pffff....

There is an aesthetic appeal to bobbers, but they just seem too at home in front of The Blue Oyster for my taste. I prefer assless chaps on chicks, not me

Here's a question: does a bobtail have to just have a cut-down rear fender, as in the rest of the minimalist nature of the bike? Or does the rear fender have to have a slight upward kick to it at its very end?
