My Wife Gets A New Car (crashed)

I know its no Porsche or even a German car but here is my wife’s new car. We had the first version in 03 and went to an Acura TL but now she is back in the new G35 and I have to tell you - this is one sweet ride. Over 300 HP will make easy work of my Carrera - the acceleration is awesome!! The technology they put in these things are amazing! It has what Bose calls its studio on wheels - it has 10 speakers that sound unbelievable and plays MP3's, 6cd's and even has a 10gig hard drive that will rip any CD to its hard drive. Check out the engine pics - I was amazed at the dual air induction. Just thought I would share our new ride. I am actually kind of jealous BUT I still like the old Carrera!

Here are some pics - enjoy!

Nice car, but I like your Carrera better. The G35 - nice as it undoubtedly is - is just another Japanese homogenized, slippery-in-the-wind-tunnel-shaped, nice commuter car. Your car is iconic. While the G35 is faster (LOTS of cars are faster, so what?) it'll never turn heads when its 20 years old and older like the 911 will.

David - for the money you can't beat the G35 - truely a great car! They should charge twice what they do for that car. The performance and the quality is very very good. Nice choice. She (and you) will be spoiled by it. Good work.

You should get some leg tonight for sure, tell us how you do...

not really trying to make a comparison - but for a daily driver for her - it is what it is and its very hard to beat!

I agree.

On re-reading what I wrote earlier, it sounds more harsh than I meant it to be, sorry. If I WERE buying a new car (not a truck) it probably WOULD be a G35, although in my case a coupe. They ARE nice cars. And they are the only new cars that appeal to me at all. I was just saying I prefer the Porsche over ...well....almost everything.

Well it only took a little more than a month for her to "take care" of it. Had the clear bra installed just in time to take this hit - its amazing that with all this damage - there isnt a single scratch where the bra is. Some of the paint cracked from the impact and bend of the metal but no scratches. Oh well!

It's funny how we probably looked at some of the same cars a came away with different opinions. I looked at the Lexus, BMW, Audi and Infinity. I don't really care for Nissan products so that eliminated the G35 even though it's a nice car. The real battle was between the 335i and the IS 350. And my winner was...

Very nice. Maybe you should leave it in the garage, where it's safe, and pick up a cheap commuter car for her to crash? I know where you can find an '84 Rabbit.
