"Alonso has rubbished suggestions that he is unhappy the team allow both drivers full access to each other's data. It was Alonso's information from Friday practice at Indianapolis that helped Hamilton make a step forward in his pace, especially in the track's middle sector, from Saturday.

"The team does a good job in that aspect," said Alonso.

"Since he is new in the category and he doesn't know the tracks, on Fridays he gets all the data from my car and my laps so he knows the circuit better and knows where the time is found."

Yes, he hit the walls are monaco 5 or 6 times... He was lucky the car did not break. But admittedly, he's impressively mistake-free for a rookie !

I still think Alonso will fight back - let's not forget that at most tracks, Alonso's setup and data is of great help to Hamilton ! I would not bury the twice WC yet... But it sure is fun to watch the kid kick his butt !

The "frogs" - the mostly british team running an italian and finnish driver - apparently have made another step up duting testing this week, we shall see... I still think someone other than Fisichella might get more out of the car - Kova is starting to show some form finally !

No hope for Honda though, super aguri passed them for pete's sake !

nota - I was thinking the same thing, not only did FA have some "offs" he almost collected a few cars on his way back on. How he has not taken out Hamilton so far is beyond be with his heroic and lucky entrances back onto the track sideways with traffic around him.

I still think Kimi is an amazing driver, he had good pace last week, just a poor start and that cost him a podium finish.

How he didn't take someone out on that Turn #1 incident where he cut the corner is beyond me. At first glance it looks like a bigtime reckless move, although there might have been an issue with car momentum and not being able to turn/slow down enough on the grass as he was careening over it. Even if so, it's attributable to driver error, not mechanical problems or a big conspiracy theory involving British mechanics favoring British drivers.

FA is talented, but he needs to remember where he came from, realize his own fallability/mortality and get his ass back in the simulator more. He needs to polish up the basics a bit and stop letting his ego drive for him. Then he and Hamilton would be VERY well-matched I think.

I agree with Prost's observations that nowadays cars are easier to drive...

Cmon the average age of the F1 drivers is 27. We have 3 contenders for the WC below 25.

A 19 year old qualified in the top 10s at his first race and he had not driven the car in 3 months.

Hamilton is certainly a good talent but it makes me smile when they compare him to Senna, Prost and Schumacher.
