Dream garage if you could have only four
If you could fill your dream garage:
Up to FOUR cars/trucks you can buy brand-new in the US today At least one has to be street legal (for your daily driver ;) ) You have $1,000,000 USD to spend. All on one or spread out as you wish. What would you buy, and WHY? Pictures are encouraged. Have fun! E |
A 73 RS...A Carrera GT...A 356 Speedster...A 914-6...Because it's pure essence of Porsche spirit...!

I'd have to think it over for awhile before I could come up with even one brand new car I'd put in it. I suppose the 2007 Passat wagon I already have would be one. The others? I guess a Boxster so I could have a convertible. I'd rather have 4 old cars.
|
Great cars, but you missed the "you can buy brand-new in the US today" part
;) |
A $1,000 bicycle, and the remaining $999,999 straight into the bank.
|
Range Rover Sport for the winter
997 C4S for the summer Mini Cooper S With the JCW package for the wife Jag coupe as a grand tourer. But I'm happy with the current fleet! |
I'm cheap,
An M5 for a daily driver. A 997 GT3 RS for a sports car. A Ford GT (new ones still are in showrooms). And since I'd need a convertible and have so much left to spend, a RR Phaeton Drophead Coupe ($450K!) http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.au..._animation.gif |
McLaren SLR, Carerra 4S (CGT isn't available "brand new" anymore), Ferrari 360 and a Tesla Roadster.
If the budget was $2M it'd be a Bugatti Veyron and three 911s. :) |
I think I'd fill two spots with a pair of wooden Chris Craft.
Dammit, no boats allowed? |
962 track car :)
993 2S cab daily driver F250 HD or equivalent for towing 356 cab or an outlaw coupe for old school fun hmmmmmm.....I might be a little over budget |
Ferrari F40
Ferrari California Spider Porsche 911 Maserati Quattroporte |

Since the conditions are NEW. This is going to be pretty close to a million.

2007 Silverado for hauling
2007 Cayman S for fun 2007 Mini Cooper for long drives 2007 WRX STI for winters |
Hmm, tough one, but the "NEW" part does make it a lot easier.
Carrera GT (hey, I've got a $mil) Carrera GT3 RS AMG S65 as the family hauler/grocery getter Cayenne Turbo S for whatever I'm not actually sure that would all fit in under a million, but I suspect it would be close. < edit > I think this would fit in the million bucks. $450k $150k $200k $120k and I'd still have money left over for velcro c/f cup holders in the CGT ;) :D < /edit> |
Hey, my list comes to $175,000 with options...
|
I will go 'retro':
- R5 Turbo Evolution II - Lancia Delta Integrale 16V - Audi Sport Quattro S1 - 911 Turbo or RUF RK as a daily driver |
997 Targa coz Targa's rule
997 GT3 RS to go round and round in circles Cayenne Turbo S to haul things really fast CGT to go to the supermarket and get groceries |
For a little top-down fun: Boxster
To keep the wife happy on longer trips: Bentley Continental GT To haul those lazy horses: F250 diesel Winter 'beater' : Passat diesel wagon Ok, so I've got a pile of money left over. Time to build a bigger garage. Les |
Car Hauler Ford F750 (33,000 lb towing capacity) Full Trucker Effect! Is there a car trailer behind me?
All out sports car - GT3RS Look at me!! - Carrera GT Family Hauler - AMG S65 (to steal from legion) Any money left over used to fuel the fleet. |
I will never buy new!
904, cause its the ONE. ruf rk, cause its just Wicked, 993TT, cause its SexyFast 356 carrera 2, cause i need groceries in style and i just blew a million dollars on cars. |
Jordi, your 3 classics were next in line for me.
|
The AMG S65 seems to be a popular non-Porsche choice. I've seen a couple of people mention it after I posted it.
|
- Porsche Panamera for the family (alternatively MB CLS 63 AMG)
- Ford GT (check) - Porsche 997 GT3 RS - Krafwerkz 917 replica I do have some spare change... |

I meant with that list... U said $1m.... I have probably more than half a mil left!
|
That's what I meant too, although I'm sure the wheels won't set you back THAT much
|
NEW??? They'd be "washing machines" all...so I then only see the need for 3.
Full sized Dodge pickemup for hauling stuff, 4X4 in case I wanted to haul off road. Maybe a Jeep Wrangler for beating around the back country, fishing small creeks, hunting, etc. Infinity G-35 for the highway trips, hauling groceries, etc. Nothing made today by Porsche interests me in the slightest. So, the above are way less than a million? I'd probably just cycle what's left over into our investment portfolio... |

Yes they are a little expensive... but this is monopoly money, no? A G35? Why? |
Mid 80's 930
Detomaso Pantera AC Cobra Already have my Dodge diesel dually I'm with pwd72s. I have no interest in anything Porsche currently makes, or made after the mid 90's for that matter. |
It's a fantasy exercise, and they have to be new. So no, "change left over for 401k, blah, blah, etc...
New? Ferrari 430 coupe black/black w/ F1 trans. Top-of-line Chevy pick-up 4x4 w/ new body style. (Don't like new Ford restyle). BMW 760il or Audi S8 in black/black or other beautiful dark metallic color. Porsche 997 GT3 RSR for track days. That's a pretty nice garage, no? ;) |
1. Cayman as a daily driver/track car--but with a 3.8 installed by either Ruf or Farnbacher-Loles. Or, heck, a GT3 motor, if they can fabricate a way for it to fit. Perhaps in Mexico Blue.
2. F430. Actually I prefer the aesthetics of a 360. But a Ferrari's a Ferrari, and by these rules all cars must be in current production. Red, of course. 3. Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagen. For hauling around the family. Colored after the Silver Arrows. 4. Is Carroll Shelby still making those "new" 1967 427 Cobras? That's gotta be my favorite car of all time. Blue with white stripes. I think my total bill only comes out to about $600K. |
A Ruf GT3 made to my specs (light blue metallic with a wine red interior)
The Lamborghina Miura formerly owned by the Shah of Iran A Mercedes Benz SSK (the chiffon roadster with the French body- I forget the carroussier) A Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta Lusso or 1957 Testa Rossa or 330P3 or 275 GTS- any one of 'em alone would make me happy. My bill comes to millions not sure how many. |
-Tacoma ext cab 4x4 5 spd for hauling old dirt bikes/dogs/stuff around.
-Audi S4 Avant v8 6 spd daily driver/long trip car. Or Legacy GT wagon mit stick trans. -1973 911T coupe with fun bits underneath but stockish exterior, maybe swap a 3.0 in with EFI and hot cams? -Cayman S Godddamn I'm a simple man. BUT this would leave money and room for my many fantasy bikes...jeez the early watercooled 125s alone would require at least 5...1980 Mugen Honda 125, 81 YZ125, 81-84 RM125, 83 CR125... |
It gets tough if you have to pick currently available and new.
My all time favorite car is the Ferrari 250 LM, but I don't think a million would cut it. Same with a Bugatti Veyron - a bit out of the price range A Ruf CTR3 would look nice next to a GT3 RS. I'd quite like a practical car like an Audi RS4 Wagon. A Mini Cooper S would make a nice little run about. |
