Shell Formula One advert
Anyone else seen the Shell Formula One advert on TV recently? Am in Montreal and doubt that its being shown only up here.
Sorry but its so nice to see the Ferarri with the V-12 engine and the driver actually shifting a gearbox that it really brings back memories. I am all for progress and new tech but personally I would vote for a return for manual gearboxes to Formula one. Anyone can flip a lever, but it takes an artiste to work a non-syncro gearbox in a race car. That artiste might win the race because they are a better driver...

You're in Montreal? I'd hop in a cab and go straight to Schwartz's Deli if I were you.

And what is Schwartz's Deli??? Anything like Katz's Deli in NYC?
If so I am going there immediately!

There used to be a rivalry with Ben's Deli, but they went downhill in the least 10 years and closed last year.

If you've got time to kill, also check out John Scotti's showroom.
It's his location for Ferraris & Lamorghinis, they're sold and serviced there so it's quite a hub of activity. But the real highlight is his collection of classics. He always has an ecclectic collection of ~150 classics for sale, some finished cars in the showroom and others waiting for work outside. Last time I was there he had an original speedster, a 73 911 coupe with ~40k, 2 Maserati Boras, a twin cam MGA coupe, 2 Etypes, a selection of old Land Rovers. He also has tons of nice american iron, including duesenburgs. Sometimes you can also see his restoration shop at work. 4305 Metropolitain East

I'm nowhere near Montreal, but I have seen that Shell ad. I turn up the sound when it comes on. They did a great job on that one. It's a pleasure to watch; and that coming from a guy who usually mutes or changes channels on ads.
