I am going to order mine at apple.com next Friday and get it a few days later by post.

Not sure how folks will sell a phone that requires a T contract on eBay, but I am sure there is a way.

With 100M+ iPod units shipped under its belt, I bet Apple will be prepared with a decent supply on Friday.

The 29th is going to be quite a day!

That's true! And "we" will probably end up very satisfied with a cell phone that actually "works" without the typical crappy, cryptic UIs . . . and a phone that looks purdy too

uhmmm ... cell phones have been actually working for sometime now. Granted, that with every additional bell and whistle they put on, the cell phones have become crappier phones.

So, I suppose what your saying is, the iPhone will still be good as a phone . ..even with it's decent tune player, crappy little camera, and crappy little web browser.

I suppose that IS better than most other compromise cell phones out right now . . in that it is pretty dang shiney.

Perhaps a look into the future.

Maybe the iPhone will develop into the next mobile computer, then take it home and plug it into the "desktop" module containing monitor, keyboard and external storage.

All it needs is more computing power which, by historical accounts, is inevitable.

I strongly disagree with that. My last 2 phones are Windows Mobile 5 and they are by far the best phones I have ever owned.

That is funny and there is some truth in it!

As a Mac guy since 1984, the attention is nice. Not only are Apple folks fanatical, there is a devoted following of anti-Mac folks who spend a fair amount of time creating things to poke fun at Apple.
