$65 million Pants.. Huh? yeah, no sheet.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/25/AR2007042502763_pf.html
"When the neighborhood dry cleaner misplaced Roy Pearson's pants, he took action. ... for his litigation costs, for "mental suffering, inconvenience and discomfort," for the value of the time he has spent on the lawsuit, for leasing a car every weekend for 10 years and for a replacement suit, according to court papers. Pearson is demanding $65,462,500. The original alteration work on the pants cost $10.50. By the way, Pearson is a lawyer. Okay, you probably figured that. But get this: He's a judge, too -- an administrative law judge for the District of Columbia."

Whata dickhead. I heard about this on radio, he is running the owners out of business because they lost his pants.
Someone remove him from the bench.

Mr. Pearson will become a "poster child" for everything that is wrong with America, particularly the justice system. The owner of the dry cleaning should sue him back for 65 Billion $ . ha ha.
believe it or not, this case was not thrown out, and is going to trial. |

Umm frivolous lawsuits suck. Has anyone ever been pulled into court over some B.S? I was sued over a ebay auction the arbitrator threw it out but heck I still had to drive 250 miles to Chelsea Michigan. I think people who bring up lawsuits like these and loose them should have mandatory community service.

Tony,
You keep posting tittypics of that girl your banging over the internet and that ebay lawsuit will seem like a day at the park! (But don't let that stop you, personally I like the way she looks and enjoy what you have shared.)

Here's how you can contact Judge Pearson to, you know, offer your support and encouragement. I hate it when the dry cleaners lose my stuff.

Vinman nailed it, just one more parasitic low-life with no morals. The problem is, the low-lifes designed the legal system and it is tailored to make them a profit. They play the game with absolutely no conscience, and everyone looses except them. The foxes are in charge of the hen house.
I know there must be honest, moral lawyers out there somewhere, why do they stand up and fight this scum? Same reason that skunks don't spray lawyers, professional etiquette. |

Sad how the country has degenerated to the point where immigrants think they would be better off to return to their country of origin, being chased by a "lawyer type" with an ego problem. I wonder how he runs his court?

Thankfully the dry cleaner prevailed.
The article says the dry cleaner recovered their costs. Unfortunately, that usually does not include attorney's fees. Which is a problem with our system. This lawyer/judge who brought the case likely knew it was a "free" shot. If he had a chance of getting stuck with paying the dry cleaner's attorney's fees if he lost, he might have thought twice about bringing the case and/or pursuing it to the end. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1110AP_67_Million_Pants.html |

They should, but probably won't, sue him for attorney fees. I have no doubt they would prevail.
Judge like that should be impeached

I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

Sounds like he plans to take them to the cleaners. Sue the pants off them, so to speak.

The lawyer/judge who brought the case represented himself. The only skin he had in the game was his time, and the prospect of losing court fees which the article pegged at $1000. BFD.
On the other hand the dry cleaner had no choice but to hire council to defend themselves. I read in another article they had about $100k in attorney fees. Since our system doesn't normally award attorney fees in a civil case, they are hosed. This is a ridiculous example of what's wrong with our legal system. Even though the dry cleaner prevailed in court - they lost - to the tune of $100k and 2 years of stress. If there was justice that plaintiff would be disbarred, forced to pay the defendant's attorney fees, and pay punitive damages.

But he's a JUDGE!
who are we to judge a judge? ![]() And what's this country coming to when a judge can't fully abuse his power? First the lawerers like Nyphong (sp?) losing their power (power to gain more power thru corrupt prosecution) and now a judge! ![]()
