Addition to the fleet - I forgot how much fun
small boats can be =
![]() I have been casually keeping an eye out for a rowing ringy that I can also teach my kids to sail on - My wife noticed this out running around the other day - it was too good to pass up. It's a Boston Whaler Squall - made for just a few years. It's 9'2" foam filled so will support over 600 lbs - Came with a sail and rudder - The guy who had it likes to work on them as a hobby - all for $165.00 yes - I had to ask him twice what he was asking for it. SCORE! (I already had the motor) ![]()

Those are fun! I had a 16' Hobie Cat when I lived in Ft Myers, FL back in 1981 and I had some good times on that little boat!!

Small sailboats are tons of fun. I learned on a 10' Topper plastic sailboat. My last small boat was a 15' Seaspray catamaran. Quick boat!
Wildest small sailboat I've ever used is the circa 1925, 18' sailing canoe at my wife's cottage. Fast, but talk about a handful! Out of curiosity, what furling system do you have on the San Juan? I'm about to bite the bullet, but can't decide on a CDI or Harken.

Jeremy,
And how about a photo of the other sailboat it appears you own??!! ![]() Agree about sailing and really miss it. If I did not have so many projects now would think about buying another boat. Very good deal you got on the new one!

It's a Harken - great units - I think worth the premium over the CDI.
and yes, I have had my share of small boats - 3 sunfish, Thistle, 505, flying dutchman, Hobie 18, G-cat. I'll have to resist the urge to "make it faster" although I did already make a set of new battens to make the sail shape better... LOL
