Talking Shots!

Ok guys we have had all kinds of grreat alcohol threads, but shots have always been my favorite.
Tell us your favorite shots with instructions.

The Flaming Dr. Pepper!
3/4 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1/4 oz 151 proof rum
1/2 glass beer
1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn.
2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass).
3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

How about a Prairie Fire? Shot of tequila with tabasco. Have your pants undone and be near a toilet when you do this. Ask me how I know.

Rick - I used to do similar, only with freezer stored vodka and a hotter sauce than tabasco... "Fifi's Little Secret" was a good sauce to use - tropical fruits (mango, pineapple) with scotch bonnet peppers.

+1

No need for fire, mixers etc... if I wanted a mixed drink I would order one.

Back in our old clubbing days the wife and I would walk up to the bar tip the bartender first and then order 2 shots of tequila. We would slam down about 3 or 4 of them then get a bottle of water and have a good time as the tequila hit.

Maintenance shots as needed.

After my hour something drive home in atlanta traffic, I walk in pull the Jim Beam from the fridge and pour a shot, drink it. Go put on my grunge clothes for layin around the house. Go back to fridge ask wifey what's for Dinner, grab cold beer. Depending on the fire alarm sounds to alarms us of dinner being done.......... I reach for the Beam again followed by cold beer. Play computer golf if daughters are done with computer.

My favorite back in the day, Southern Comfort straight.

When I was a bartender some of the popular favorites were

Raspberry Kamikaze
Buttery nipple
3 Wise Ment

But after 5 years as a bartender I've pretty much quit that stuff.

Steve I have had a kamikaze before, but I think it was blueberry. What exactly is in that thing? It sure was tasty.

Shots? I prefer a glass of either bourbon or single malt. Let it roll around in your mouth a bit instead of shooting it. No chaser. Rinse and repeat.

+1 Yum Single Malt.
But if I do do shots its usually Vodka and even in a shot glass I tend to slip. I guess I have slowed down a bit.

We called those Bush Beaters, ya they suck coming out either end.

I had a few many years ago, got into a head butting comp with two pro soccer players in Newport. I won (at least I thought I did!) but 5 minutes later was grabbing the porcelain thrown powerpuking what was perhaps the worse combo known to man - bile, Tabasco, and tequila.

Never again...

Anyone know the recipe for the 7-layer shot? I have it somewhere but it's been years since I've made it and forget all the various liquors involved. . .

Here's a great one:

French Kiss:
1/3 Melon Liquor (Midori works fine)
1/3 Amaretto
1/3 Bailey's Irish Cream

Good schite.

A plain Kamikaze is
vodka
sweet sour mix
triple sec
splash of 7-up

for raspberry just add raspberry liqueur. The cheap stuff works fine or you can use Chambord.

Anyone watch Absolutely Fabulous? Those "Stoli-Bollies" are hard to beat.

Couple shots of Stolnichaya (or other good) vodka in a tall glass. Top with Bollinger (or other good) champagne.
