Mass Exodus in Chicago tonight

A million people tonight on the lakefront for the fireworks...A MILLION. No thanks. Traffic is obviously a nightmare--glad to be watching the news from my house...bah humbug.
Christian.

When I lived in Chi-town, I used to go down the lakefront on my bicycle for Air/Navy show and for 4th of July. I didn't have any interest whatsoever in camping out, although it was fun to cruise the bike path for a few hours, then head home.

Have a good 4th well away from the nuttiness.

Yeah, I'm watching it from the window of my office right now - it's a mess, as usual. A lot of the issue is about 999,998 people don't seem to know how to cross the street!

Television works well to avoid being anywhere near something like this.

Yeah, its mad, but we used to watch them from upper Wacker drive, right next to the the river, and it was awesome.

I love Chicago. One of the few places in the midwest I would live. Such a great town. I lived over in Wicker Park/Bucktown for like 3 years. Just before all the white Yuppie wenches with their SUVs invaded.
