The Motley Fool
I was thinking of subcribing to "Motley Fool Rule Your Retirement" for $99 per year. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this website and this publication? Thanks!

I read thier stuff, I get an e-mail a week from them. I do not pay however. It's pretty good, there is always something to learn I guess.

They are great entertainment but what I have heard about their stock picks is that they are a little worse than the dart board method.

The website is a foot in the door to try to upsell you on dozens of subscription newsletters. Traffic on the forums is sparse and there is not much in the way of genuinely useful advice. Really the only information that's useful is the library of archived FAQs and how-tos for general background info on a topic.
I've gotten better stock tips here than on any other chat board or forum. Everyone knows a little something extra about their industry or a particular company. I thought Motley Fool would be a forum of people sharing those tidbits. Instead it's a bunch of egos and noobs, and nothing you would actually act on. |

The Fool has certainly evolved over the years. Their first book was pretty straitforward. I used to visit their website but quit when it got so money hungry.
