Pelican Temp Check
What has been the peak temp at your home during recent heat wave? Got up to 115 out on my deck the other day, was 100 at 10:00 PM, if you can believe that. So far 3 in a row 100+days, though the cool delta breeze is saving my ass right now.
|
I think it was 78 here yesterday.
Low of 77. :) |
From the friend staying at my place was 114 yesterday.
Am on the outskirts of town and right on the edge of the desert, so not as much asphalt and concrete to heat everything up. Its 86 here in Cannes and sunny. Tomorrow will be London and with it rain and 65 degree temps. Guess where I would rather be? Home in Phoenix... yes I am sick. |
But it is a dry heat. Okay if not too windy.
You knew you were going to have a rough day in Houston when you left the house while it was still dark, and sweat through your shirt on the way to the car. |
It was a blistering 75 noon on the 4th.
|
I have seen 127 on Thursday at 4PM (116 official and a record for the day), right now is 97 (92 official), yesterday was 115+ and windy, feel like you where in front of a giant hair dryer!!
|
72 here on the coast.
|
Its freaking hot. Its not a 'dry heat' either.
|
My sister in law, wifes sister, and her husband recently moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. While it's not beyond me to tell them both to go to hell, it seems they have taken my advice.
Easily over 110 every day, over 120 plenty often and it doesn't take a heat wave to get there. I have no urge to visit them, but I never did anyway. ;) |
Hasn't been hot enough to even think about turning the air on yet. Foggy mornings, cool evenings.
|
81 at 1:53PM
|
89.5 Right now, probably 95 later today
Averaging in the middle to upper 80's this week (quite cool for July) but with Dewpoint around 73-75F Feels soggy |
|
we have had nothing but crap for weather, with 70 being the warm side. March and April were nice, then we hit June/July and it's rained every single day at some point.
|
We were 89 here in the shade at my place yesterday and today. Looks like low to mid 90's for mon/tues.....
Cheers |

Typical July here. Right now 92 with about 58% humidity.
|
Low 90's in DC today, but somewhat cooler and very pleasant temps for the past week.
|
85 here in Florida we just had our afternoon thunderstorm.
In the NC mountains at our vacation home its 67 outside. I just got off the phone with my wife. I cannot wait to get beck up there. |
Has been 70's at the boat all last week. Same this week. Landed in Las Vegas yesterday morning at 11AM. Was 111. Took off at Noon. Was 114. Landed again at 6pm, was 117. Took off at 8pm, was 116.
Just went 5 blocks inland from the marina here in Redondo. Was 25F hotter, and sun was out. |
Hooooooly....understand why so many Pelicans need A/C in there 911...!

Yes another Californian ringing in (remember we did not start this thread).
High of 78-85 each day for the last month in the OC. Laguna Beach, which happens to be 3 miles from my house, is 70-75 each day for the last month as well. No Bad weather for over 2 years. Unfortunately a little rain would actually be pretty good (as long as its at night)..:D ;) |
South of Santa Cruz? Today a high of 70. Tomorrow 76. The fog at my place is a regular occurance morns and eves in the summer.

warmer today, yet now it's raining again!
|
It was uncomfortably warm here today in Central NY, near 85 and a little humid. Not that famous "dry heat". But much nicer back in the forest along the lake on the way home from the IRL @ the Glen.
|
95 degrees here with about 35% humidity. It feels warmer than that...we have a pool and we've spent the majority of the past 4 days in it.
|
Just landed NYC. 95F, dew point 50's. Gonna be here all week. Look for the Honolulu tan, and loud Aloha shirt. Boat shoes, no socks.
|
I think we hit 103 or 105. There is a big wild fire burning near the north end of town that started Sat about noon. I would be very surprised if we haven't lost quite a few homes.
