Fred Thompson commits the ultimate sin

No, not marrying the silicone-enhanced piece of arm candy. Not lobbying for a pro-choice group. not even lying about lobbying for a pro choice group.

Fred Thompson’s ultimate sin is being boring.

All of the leading Republicans are damaged beyond redemption: Giuliani is a closet liberal, notorious adulterer, and is caught on tape dresing like a woman, advocating gun control and arguing for goverment funding of abortions.

McCain self-destructed in slow motion over the past 4 months.

Romney, for all his charisma, never had a chance because of what ‘the base’ thinks of Mormonism.

Tancredo is a one-issue wacko.

Tommy Thompson can't get traction at all.

Ron Paul is hopelessly coherent.

Is it all over for the Republicans? Probably. The only hope they have is Newt. And Newt is a long shot. Screwing around on his wife while condemning Clinton for oral sex; divorcing one wife while she was recovering from cancer treatment... and not much to show for his early and loud support for the Iraq war...

Time for dark horse #2 to arise from the wreckage. Who will it be?

I agree.

But I'd rather have boring than the rest.

Still, the Democratic field doesn't look much better either.

Although it seems that most of them chose not to participate in it!

"Fred Thompson’s ultimate sin is being boring."

Boring may not be all that bad. Maybe he can bring in better writers.

May you live in interesting times...

My thoughts exactly. I've recently noticed a number of negative stories on him with no substance...

Seems they want to get a "bad taste" in voters' mouths before they have any real dirt.

Beleive in it!?!

That sounds about right. You have to "believe" in evolution since the science is about as solid as alchemy.

techweenie 07-08-2007 07:03 PM

I don't think the 'Hillary or Obama camp' is controlling the Drudge Report, but if you want to think it's all a vast left-wing conspiracy, be my guest.

Meantime, W is trying to figure out how to announce our withdrawal from Iraq.

So being caught in a lie about his lobbying is not 'substance?'

It actually made him postpone his announcement, so someone thinks it's substantive.

So tech, does Hillary excite you? ...(shudder)

No, their best hope is the Democrat party. And that may very well be all they need.

island911 07-08-2007 07:28 PM

I'll give you that he has a drabness to him... bad suits and all. But clearly he's the guy the left is afraid of.

hmmmm, maybe boring is in. ...or does this economy need some "excitement" ?

Joe Bob 07-08-2007 07:33 PM

Boring is gud.....better than getting our kids in killed in Iraq...

Well, you're probably not for Fred, then. Fred thinks voters don't care about Iraq.

Shaun @ Tru6 07-08-2007 08:09 PM

What are Fred's positions on:
Iraq
Taxes
Abortion
Environment
Guns
Economy
Education
Energy

Does anyone know?

Why do the dems want the Government to take care of them?? I'm fat & sick, I eat junk food & smoke a carton of cigs a day, the gubment has to take care of me, as I don't have insurance, and can't afford it on top of the payments for my 85" tv. If we bury our heads in the sand, no one will bother us or we can pay them (like clinton did) to leave us alone:rolleyes:
