Heaven or Hell?
From what I understand, after you die, you go to Heaven and they tell you whether you get to stay or if you need to catch the next connection to Hell.
Where would you go if Hell didn't want you? What are your options? |
Boston?

Not according to the bible.
According to my pastor, the Lutehran interpretation of the bible tells us that Hell is the absence of God's presence. If you take it literally, It tells us that jesus died and first decended into hell, then ascended to heaven to be with the father. My pastor tells us that we do not go to heaven right away. We die and are left without god's presense until we ascend. I do not know how long that takes and it doesn't matter. Time as we know it would be meaningless. But .... based on my own personal experience, I felt god's presence instantly. It was wonderful beyond any explanation. |
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? |

So hell is the absence of God's presence.
That means heaven would be. . . what? The absence of Godsquatters' presence? It would for me anyway. |
sammy, you had a near death experience?
Apparently 90% of people with near death experiences have a pleasant experience while 10% have an unpleasant one. An interesting statistic, not sure if it has any meaning in this debate. |
near death experiences are completely fake. whenever someone said they had an "experience" or saw the light, it was just an overload of dimethyltryptamine produced in his/her brain. DMT is a chemical, naturally produced in our brain every time we sleep, it is also produced rapidly in the brains or corpses. When your body is about to die, the brain recieves a immense load of DMT and then u die, or wake up (the near death experience). I know numerous people who have recreationally smoked it and they all saw the same thing, a bright white light, then the DMT wore off.

i thought we straightened this out on the athiest thread. or was it the god thread? you ain't goin' nowhere.

If Heaven rejected you, and so did Hell, then they'd send you back to Earth, at which point you'd be consigned to work for the DMV as a bureaucrat for all eternity, entrenched in mindless drudgery and mired in red tape of Biblical proportions. You'd commute in a Ford Taurus and tell people that they needed to have someone who had died sign on the Title of their car before they could get a license.

I expect most folks will be greatly suprised by the afterlife (assuming there is one).

Sketchers, yes.
Thinkfloyd and JW, I don't agree. |
It is said that in hell, everyone is standing around a big pot of soup with a spoon. The problem is, the spoons are so long, they can't get them to their mouths.
In heaven, it is exactly the same. They just use the spoons to feed each other, and that is the difference. Wherever you go, there you are. LOL |
I hope there is a heaven... however, I doubt it.
I think the reality is this: the only thing waiting for you is a big hole in the ground, for them to shovel dirt over your head until eternity. Have a nice day :) |
My gut tells me that hell is on earth, because we are partially disconnected from God down here. Once we die, we either stay in heaven close to God, or reincarnate in another life to keep learning and try to do it right this time.
