Just what are Americans fed up with?

Let me clarify: USA Americans.

BTW, it's not like me to start a political discussion, but I'll weather the storm.

OK, the subject of high gas prices will come into play here. I personally think we are ready to pay more for the gas, just not the way we are now making record profits for the oil companies. Something stinks there.

But. what's on your list?

Mine would start with lies. I'm fed up with lies from anyone from the President on down. One lie to me and you can exit stage left and never return. I off people daily.

I'm fed up with the Middle East. I never did like anything about the Middle East including the Holy land aspect. I can worship as I please w/o a destination.

Fat people. This is embarrASSing. The US is fat and it looks it. When you hear that the airlines have to pare down luggage because the average weight of the passengers has climbed, you have to believe part of it, propoganda or not.

Stupid government regulation that caters to the common denominator, which is generally a lack of intelligence. One has to label a stove as something that can burn?? (Just one of 1000's and 1000's of examples.)

Gangs. We've had them since day one, but that doesn't make it any better.

Tort. Enough said. (I had to included it, but I would have rather not mentioned it. Consider it mentioned.) We might even have some semblance of health care w/o tort. I mean, what is the concept behind insurance besides being a non productive industry? (Wayne's money video notwithstanding.)

Lastly (at least for me), people. What's going on? Flip flops to the opera? There is absolutely no dignity left. The Europeans have been telling us this for years, but we're no better. In fact, as bad as ever. I'm embarrassed for our utter lack of any dignity. Apparently, all parents have failed. I have no children, so don't blame me for that thing you call a human being walking around with tats, piercings and talking like a ghetto homey. My own two step children don't have nearly the right amount of manners, but it wasn't my place to MAKE them behave. I coached perpetuately. They had grandparents and their natural father to take them down nicely. The above mentioned could buy and sell me in a heartbeat, so I really don't seem to have much influence. Money talks and talks mostly in a boorish manner.

I don't need to tell you that.

Lay it on me.

Tobra 07-13-2007 08:18 PM

I am fed up with the attitude that I owe anybody a GD thing.

I am not okay with an unfettered flow of people into my country who expect me to pay for their children's education, healthcare, food and housing. I swear I want to pull my hair out when some dumb bunny says it makes me a racist to be against illegal immigration.

I am sick of peole who are rude. It does not cost a freakin' cent to be nice.

Kids who talk to their parents using language that I would be embarassed to use in a strip club should have their mouths washed out with soap, I don't care if they are 17, it should have happened a long time ago.

People who do things the fast easy way rather than the right way. People used to take pride in doing their job well.

I am fed up with stupid, lazy people breeding. Eventually, the country will collapse under the weight of its entitlement programs. It will be the end of us.

I'm fed up with Andy Rooney. I mean, what's up with this guy? He makes a living by just complaining on TV for one minute once a week? What's that all about? I have to work all week to get a paycheck, and he gets to just complain to get paid. It's just not fair.

And have you ever noticed those eyebrows? You would think that any man who gets paid enormous amounts of money to just complain on TV would have the human decency to at least get those crazy brows trimmed up. As we used to say to those crazy hippies in the '60s, "get a hair cut, you crazy hippy!"

Ever notice how annoying his voice is? How when you read something imitating him, you can hear his voice in your head reading the sentence? I mean, that just freaks me out. Chaps my hide.

Lies....Middle East...double talking president....Stupid Govt. that wastes $billions....
Stupid Govt. that listents to lobbiests rather than actively seeking a better solution
(alternative energy sources than oil for example)....Stupid Govt. that doesnt look ahead at long term solutions
and rather repeats the terrible mistakes of the past....poor health care
coverage and expenses involved....corrupt and greedy pharmaceutical
companies....a stupid celebrity driven culture... bad music and bad
films that are passed off as "great" and the resulting masses that for
whatever reason are brainwashed by that drivel via the marketing...
overexposed marketing and advertising in general... ugly US car designs...
The IRS and its insane tax code... ALT taxes... State taxes... Taxes...
traffic and terrible drivers....rice boys... people who drive super huge
SUVs and Dodge Hemis to overcompensate for fundamental lack
of mental or physical growth... marital infidelity which is accepted and
often encouraged... parents who are irresponsible and should never
have kids to begin with....people who should not get married.... rape,
murder, child abuse, pediphilia... etc. there is more

10. Greed(note to self: open a mansion construction business in Houston), crime, and ignorance have been around from the begining of time. Only the levels of each vary depending on the situation. Supply and demand, SOS.

20. I don't like watching 200+ years of democractic efforts being flipped upside down overnight, and no one seeming to care.

30. Also, nature(whatever definition that is) has always been the source of food and materials for humanity. Lack of such has always led to disaster.

40. goto10

FYI - My wife, my son (14), his cousin (13) and I were playing a board game last night. In the sillyness of it all my son made some sort of comment about how something sucked.

I stopped him in his tracks and told him that was not polite. That the word suck was out of line and stinks would be a better word.

Milt - When we went to see Cirque De Solei we dressed like we were going to the theater, because we were!!

We were in a definite minority.

Last month we took our 2 sons to a 5 star restaurant, we made a 5:00 reservation because we knew it would be slower then. We dressed both our sons, 14 and 3 in suites with ties to compliment mom and dad. We were delighted to see 80% of the crowd in the place was dressed the same. As we were leaving the "hip" crowd was filtering in with their flip flops, jeans and t-shirts on.

My only complain right now is Left Land loosers on the highway. I cannot think of too many more right now but they will come to me.

I also would like to add a +1 to most everything posted above me.

I am sick of a culture where opportunity is squandered.

Evans, Marv 07-13-2007 10:41 PM

I'm just sick of everything already mentioned and everything else that can be mentioned. The thing that confirmed my suspicions about much of it was my time working with the welfare system. When I was younger, I used to hear older people say the country was going to hell in a handbasket. I bet if they could see what is happening today, they would feel like they were hit between the eyes with a sludgehammer. I really feel like the country is becoming unsprung. I'm just sick of everything.

Sonic dB 07-14-2007 01:19 AM

My feeling is that we are a nation of Escapists... more content to
lose our minds in crap like video games, surfing the net and silly news stories like
the guy who got arrested today for jogging in the nude...as well as
what the latest thing going on with Paris Hilton (was her jail time softened? OMG!!)

So our country escapes the real and important issues that are facing us
daily...and we all know what they are....but most of us ignore them and
hope they go away...

livi 07-14-2007 04:11 AM

I know my views as a durn for'ner is not allegable but personally I have found I am most fed up with myself. With my inherent psychological defense mechanisms and hence my inability to properly live out my life to the max of my potential. Sure, I am bothered with many issues in my surroundings, but if I - myself - had the capasity of being content with myself, it would not bother me half as much what´s going on around me of a negative nature.

Sorry for intruding. Carry on. Over and out.

Going to the beach now with my six kids, a very nice dark haired beauty and a couple of six-packs.

Rudeness. Whether it is in public, private or on the road. The cellphone has created a level of rudness that is disgusting. people have gotten to the point where they just dont give a crap about anyone around them.

Overdevelopment. Anywhere there is any space left, some greedy developer sticks a high capacity housing unit there. which leads to the next problem.

Overcrowding. Americas full. Go back home.

Lazy, out of shape unmotivated kids. But thats us parents fault. We cater to them, hand deliver thier dinner to them while they lay on the couch watching TV or playing video games.

Most of the previous post have everything else covered.....

I'm sick of people complaining!

rfuerst911sc 07-14-2007 04:40 AM

I am fed up with politics in general and this administration specifically. I am tired of the flow of illegal aliens into this country. I am concerned with this generation of youngsters that seem to bring nothing to the table for society except the ability to play a video game. I'm concerned about crime. If we are going to use our soldiers for tasks they weren't trained for then bring them home and protect our borders. How about taking a large percentage of foreign aid money and invest in America? I am as proud of my ancestory as anyone ( german ) but I am a American first and speak English. My wife and I raised two boys now 21 + 26 and they are polite, respectful and have never broken any laws. My wife and I have been married 29 years and I believe we are a dyeing breed. I'm tired of all the religous wackos that spew all their garbage about us non-believers but have no problem covering up past and present behaviors from priests and clergy that are involved in crime, rape, molestation etc. I'm tired of being raped by government as a middle class citizen paying taxes for all kinds of crap that doesn't benefit me or my family. I'm tired of pathetic medical visits where you have to fill out 10 forms for the most simple check up. I'm done now because I'm tired !!

Flatbutt1 07-14-2007 05:19 AM

I'm also fed up with incompetence, especially in the office where it seems to be rewarded with advancement.

Maybe you're just jealous that you didn't score a job like that? Hey, I'm happy for him because if he can do it, maybe so can I.

What am I sick of? Listen to "Get Over It" by the Eagles.

Porsche-O-Phile 07-14-2007 06:00 AM

"That's not my job"
"I'll get back to you on that"
Drama queens/sensationalists
Paris Hilton
Our government (federal, state AND local)
Corruptions and scandals by our "leaders"
Watching Southern California be overrun by illegal aliens
"I'm-a-badass" attitudes by everyone, most of which is only for show
People playing the "I'm a victim" card to demand whatever they want
Suckups
Ricers
Dipschits wearing baggy pants and sideways hats (automatic "retard" label IMHO)
Over-legislation of EVERYTHING in our society from birth to death to how we fornicate to how to properly take a whiz.
Urban sprawl.

What do you two contribute to society? Seriously. I can't see how anyone can be involved with anything substantial or worthwhile and not be fed up. Of course, one or both of you could be fat. Sorry about that. :D

Shaun @ Tru6 07-14-2007 06:25 AM

it's a loooong list and Milt you covered a lot of them as well as others above.

I'm fed up with a true lack of leadership and accountability at all levels, all political parties.

Citizens have an innate sense of what needs to be done for this Country to "Win" in the next 50 years and no one has the balls or vision to lead us into a great future. We are a great people led by charlatans.

I'm also fed up with people not actively contemplating and then acting on what they can do to make the life of the next guy better.

the 07-14-2007 07:50 AM

Yeah, people who lack accountability, that's the worst. Hypocrisy probably a close second.
