Win386.SWP File - anyone ever try to move it?
Win386.SWP File - anyone ever try to move it?
It's a pretty large file on my C-Drive, lots of room for it on my D-Drive. I get the feeling that I should let sleeping dogs lay. Anyone ever be so bold as to move this file? Found under C........Windows...........look for the largest file, will have todays date on it (very top or very bottom of list). Link with information on it: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000358.htm

Very easy to move. Are you on 2000/XP?

Thanks for the answers, I'm leaving where it is. I talked to my wife about it, and we looked up some conversions.
200,000 KB = 200 MB = .2 GB (approx.) Not a lot of gain moving that little .2 GB around. Six year old computer, Windows 98 SE..........don't laugh it's still working better than Vista. ![]() I need a new computer.

Kach,
You cheap bastard, its way past time to get a new computer with a new OS!!! Stop fussing around trying to make 98SE work better and shell out some money that you throw into your "floating on the earth" vehicles into a descent home computer! ![]() Joe

George, for GOD SAKE, get rid of that computer. The thought of you doing ANYTHING involving banking, using your credit card online....etc....scares the hell outta me. Its gotta go.

98 was tons better than 95, but compared to XP it's horrible. Even NT4.0 was better. Go buy a $400-500 computer with XP. It'll be better.

Quote:
Microsoft has not supported it in YEARS and any flaw found in the OS has not been patched, as they have done and continue to do with W2000 and all newer OS. Not only is it a very old and outdated operating system, its not safe. If you are using it to play games on and its never connected to the internet, then enjoy but if you have one iota of personal data stored there and its ever on the internet you might as well just give it all away.
