If you smoke pot...
..do you take other drugs as well?
|
Why, if legal substances will get you messed up or buzzed just fine, would it be neccessary to risk jail and/or death to do 'illicit' drugs?
A good martini is all I need. |
Soylent green is made out of people!
who smoke pot |
Haven't smoked pot in almost ten years...
But yeah when I did I also sampled most of the other illegal drugs that can be smoked, snorted, or swallowed. I gave it (all) up because seemed like a tremendous waste of time and money... and I was pretty sure it wasn't doing my health any good. ;) Having said that I find it amazing and amusing the misconceptions people have about drug users. I voted soylent green because I didn't feel like I fitted any of the other options. |
I've never had a cigarette, pot, or other drugs (although I've seen and been around lots of stuff). I hardly drink as well. It just doesn't do much for me.
I'm high on life. :D  |
Interesting that there is no poll option such as, "I have never smoked pot, never smoked cigarettes and I don't drink (at all or much)."
I guess that omission tells us a lot about your life experience. That it didn't even occur to you that there are many people that have lived like that? I drink very little, and honestly? I wouldn't care if it all dried up tomorrow and I don't think I've missed a thing. |
Steve, can you score me some of this "life"? Can you get some of the really good life... like Hawaiian or nothern California?
:D :D :D :D |

However I did grow up the drug culture and it is amazing that the thought of sobriety is a totally bizarre concept to some people. |
It takes dynamite to get me up
Too much of everything is just enough One more thing I just got to say I need a miracle every day The Grateful Dead |
No rope for 25+ years, have become too much of a control freak perhaps. It's possible I'll take it up when I'm 75 or so.

Puff, puff, GIVE dammit.
|
I did. Gave it up when I got a job offer in college. I like it better than drinking, but it's not worth the risk of losing my job.
|
Can we get a "I'm shrooming my ass off right now" catagory added?
Preferably in the next 6-8 hours? :) |

How 'bout...I gave it up several decades ago, You see, I looked around at the people I needed to be friendly with in order to buy the weed. I then decided I didn't want to be around them....

As someone who who injects others w/ all manner of medications as a way of making a living, it feels odd to say that on a "big" year, I personally have 6-10 beers total. I've had friends lose their careers by sampling the tools of the trade....have known a few people to end-up dead as a result too. I'm always amazed that people would flush everything they had/might have for (in the beginning) a few hours of euphoria. It seems they should have been smarter than that.

FYI - I have never smoked pot or a cigarette in my life, neither have I touched any drugs. That said, yes, I enjoy my occasional beer here and there, its almost a prerequisite when I fire up the grill to have a beer handy its almost a utensil. I meet my brother once in a blue moon for happy hour at the local ale house and catch up with him, especially when we are both really busy. I come from a long history of flaming alcoholics so I an very careful not to make a habit out of drinking. What prompted this thread was the other thread about trying some herb that grows naturally and is not illegal yet. I wondered who would try something like that, who searches for the new high. Is it a drinker? A habitual drug user? A pot smoker? I was just curious but I see you have already drawn conclusions about me having never met me. BTW- as far as my "life experience" goes, my wife, the woman I am married to for 18 years, drinks maybe 3 times a year. Probably less than you. We both exercise every day, eat healthy, and live active lifestyles. We rarely eat fast food and try to avoid processed foods. Heavy drinking really does not fit in with this lifestyle. What also blew me away recently was a good friend that said something in conversation that this person and his/her spouse smoke a joint every night after the kids are put to bed. To be clear, I really do not care if someone smokes or not, I was more surprised because they were both professionals that have a somewhat high profile in the area and I could not understand getting popped for drug possession just to "relax." I really do not care what anyone does for recreation its never bothered me, its bothered me more that you have such a crappy out look on life that you have to find such a negative in such a general poll. |
would any wind up dead IF know dose pure drugs were not illegal?
dude the medical pro's are very fear driven love to dwell on the worse case BS and not the millions of safe sane people out there yes there are always nuts and over doers saddly they make the stupid laws btw pot is totally nontoxic there are two ways to die from pot an airdroped bail hits you in the head or a cop shoots you same is true for LSD and shrooms but not for most all pharmie sold drugs lets ban the toxic drugs and let the non-toxic ones be legal DRUG LAWS ARE A FAR BIGGER PROBLEM then the non-toxic drugs in fact non-toxic substances like pot SHOULD NOT BE EVEN CALLED DRUGS simple def = if it kills it is a drug if it doesnot it ain't |

That said, to answer the last sentence of your quote above, It looks like the majority of people who are trying salvia are teenagers and college kids. There were only a couple of videos I saw that had 30+ year olds flailing about on the floor. I certainly have no interest in ever trying saliva. It also seems like a drug where in most cases, one person at a time "fried". The other "sober" people just laughed at the person. Really does not seem like fun. Dave |
my experience with habitual drug users is that they are self-treating some sort of mental flaw. the heroine addict who felt unloved and died on a Baltimore street after robbing his parents house during his sister's wedding, the alcoholics who simply can NOT function in any social situation (even with family) without introducing 'cocktails'; it all seems a variation on a theme.
nobody really takes issue with calling the heroine addict a 'druggy' but i can tell you denying the alky's their 'cocktails' in a social situation produces a very obvious response EVERY TIME in the form of fidgeting, awkward conversations, standing off to one side of the room, eyes darting all over the place trying to avoid contact, etc. same gig IMO but people seem to accept it because it is so widespread. |
