A Few Good Men... "did you order the code red?"
Jerry McGuire
Risky Business
he has done some entertaining films and most importantly in the eyes
of Hollywood, they have grossed $billions.

shockingly good movie. i mean like 'wow' good.

i am embarassed to say it but....i think that seacrest character does an excellent job on the singing show and should have a good future.

+3 (or wherever we're at) on Travolta. Grease and Pulp Fiction are so far beyond other crap that is out there.

For my part i'd add Dennis Miller to the list. I see zero talent with that guy.

No, no, I'm not talking about people you necessarily hate. I don't care for Katie Couric either, but if you get the anchor slot on a morning talk show and then on an evening news show, you're gonna be famous.

I'm talking about the people who have zero redeeming qualities, no talent, no smarts, no looks, yet they've made it big somehow. Courtney Love is a good one, except she married Kurt Cobain, so that made her famous. She could not play guitar to save her life. But then neither can Bruce Springsteen and I don't think he can sing a melody any better than Dr. Dre. Yet, he's a superstar.

Springsteen? don't even get me started :D

He's been in some good films, but I've never seen him give a decent performance. Check out The Last Samurai. Cruise stars opposite Ken Watanabe. The contrast is staggering. It was almost embarassing to watch Cruise share the screen with a real actor.

There was an interview with Watanabe-san where he mentioned almost cutting off Tom Cruises' head with a sword during that filming when he ducked the wrong way.

Travolta and Cruise are good actors, no doubt, but one has to be when one is creating a complex infrastucture of "religion", with members infiltrating and coercing individual IRS agents, for the express purpose of avoiding personal taxes.

I even feel guilty renting their movies at the library.

+1, he is in a class with Keanu Reeves. There are some great ones out there, Robert Deniro.

I remember when Rosie used to be nice and funny, prior to coming out of the closet.

I like Barbarino, unfortunate about the Hairspray remake, but mostly not bad.

They are famous just because. There is some thing they do that people find fascinating and will buy People, or Star or Tiger Beat when they see the right person on the cover.

The latest addition to this list is Victoria Beckham.

she is married to someone talented, before that was famously anorexic

I am no fan of Springsteen, but he can write well

Bruce Springsteen is more of a great performer than he is a great
singer or great musician. His live shows are legendary... He does
have, though a somewhat unique quality about his voice, and he writes
a lot of songs about cars and old days, but he can put a decent song
together. Most importantly he got great management in the mid 70s
with Jon Landau which made a huge difference in his going from regional
act to mega star. He has done a pretty fair amount of mediocre
songs, but there have been some gems too. I like the Born to Run
album best, Meeting Across the River always gets me for some reason
maybe its the simplicity of it, trumpet and piano...

I dont like to hate on celebrities, but I do not see any appeal at all
in Lindsay Lohan and wonder why she keeps getting film roles.

Ok, I'll buy that. But Max Weinberg SUCKS! Why does he have to wear headphones for a click track in the video for Dancing in the Dark? It's the simplest beat, far simpler than any Beatles tune and doesn't have one change or even cymbal crash? I hate watching him. He's so horrible I can't help but to keep watching him and wondering how he got a big gig.
