Someone sent me a file that is supposedly a MS Works database file.
Cannot get it to open with any MS program that I have. Suggestions, ideas? Its a *.db file about a meg in size.

I don't have a computer with MS Works on it. Can you import the file into MS Access?
1. Start Microsoft Access. 2. In the Microsoft Access dialog box, under "Create a new database using," click to select Blank Access Database, and then click OK. 3. Name the database, and then click Create. 4. In the Database window, under Objects, click Tables, and then click New. 5. In the New Table dialog box, select Import Table from the list, and then click OK. 6. In the Import dialog box, click the arrow in the Look In box, and select the folder that contains the dBASE file that you created in Microsoft Works. Click the arrow in the Files Of Type box, and select either dBASE III or dBASE IV, depending on the format you chose in step 8 of the "Saving the Works Database File" section earlier in this article. 7. Click the database that you want to use, and then click Import. Hmm, Works database files should have an extension *.wdb If you want to send me the file, I'll try and get it into a more friendly format for you. Dave

As above, I think .db is a Paradox format.

It's a Mac Works file. Another one of those Mac can read the Windows file, But Windows can't read the Mac file. Good going Microsoft!

See if your friend can export the info into a text comma or tab delimited file. You should then be able able to import the info more easily.
