I know I'm old school..but what are they trying to accomplish? A 4 door 911? Do they want to compete with AMG/BMW?
I'd take a stock 993 TT any day of the week over this thing. |

It's very predictable what it will end up looking like.
It will look like a 997 photoshopped into a 4 door, with whatever adjustments are necessary to make the engine fit in the front. Porsche has absolutely zero design creativity these days. |

Wow, I didn't know Porsche paid to use the Dodge Charger as a design study!

if you look closely, they've got coverups and design elements to trick the eye....if you look past them with your imagination, a stretch 997 appears....not my cup of tea regardless...

OK...I'll be the first I guess...I like it. Can't wait to see it in final guise.

I guess I can kinda get my idea around a four door, but good god can't they make a better looking car. Does everything have to look like a 911. They are certainly diliuting ther appearance of the 911 in my opinion.

I really like that. I am glad there is still one company left that can design without just slapping body kits on and that is Porsche. This is why the 997 won so many design awards, most importantly the design award of the year when it came out. I think I will probably look into that if its made. I am all about heritage but if Porsche stuck with that we would all be driving variants of the 356, so I say bring out the new blood too.

Well I am old school as I said so even the 996 doesn't look like a 911 to me (they can call it whatever they want). The 997 GT3 doesn't look bad in my opinion but I wouldn't call it a 911. And I agree why try to make every car now look like a 996/997? I mean when we first saw the secret pics of the Cayenne, it looked like a Hyundai Santa Fe. so might as well keep going away from the 911 shape anyway, the purists won't care. As a company I understand that they're smart and they're one of the only ones out there who is profitable so they will make whatever is going to sell. It just tells me that people will want the old cars that much more and our air cooled will go up in value even more!

If one can accept the concept....why not just dust off the 989 ??
For pics...see here under "external links" ---> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_989 - Wil

I just don't think it is so bad, I like the little horizontal scoops behind the front wheels, I hope the headlights turn out better, they are covered up, I don't really like the rear wing as it is but who knows what it will really look like. The back looks like it has some British in it, but what the heck, it doesn't look Japanese.
If I could buy one, and wanted a four door, but then, I can't and don't. |
