I second Sea Ray. They remind me of VIP, a good all-around boat. You might also check out Donzi and maybe a Carlson hull. Buy used! Best bang-for-the-buck. I hate to say it, but one of oour boats has been sitting for 2 years in the garage. Must be getting lazy.

Sea Rays are good. Some of today's boats are built without wood components. This is the way to go. And yes, you will prefer a deeper "V," unless your vertebrae are too far apart and you want to pound them closer together.

Thanks for all the great replies.
To answer a few questions we are looking for a cruiser for the family. Maybe the wife and I will spend a night or 2 on the boat. Not really into the fishing aspect. I am definetly looking for used.
