Bullit behind the scenes

Word is that Brad Pitt has signed on to do a remake of Bullitt.

Great movie!

As 'car guys' I'm sure we all look for the 'errors' that occur in such films ...kinda like the old western cowboy flick where, for an instant, you see a jet contrail in the far sky.

I think I recall that somwhere the big Dodge looses a front hubcap ...later on in the chase, the hubcap is back in place. Ahhh...those pesky details!

Brad Pitt? Ugh. Ya know, sometimes things just should be left alone.

OK, Bullit trivia:
How many Porsches are in the movie?
What models?

Best,
Grady

There are probably a lot of them. I remember in one scene for a moment you see a still-in-daily-use Model T truck parked on the street...don't see that anymore! After seeing Jacqueline Bisset's yellow 356 cab I can never concentrate on anything else BUT her! Gawd, she's STILL hot and she's like 60 years old.

Why does Hollywood have to remake every classic movie, every tv show and make sequels for every original movie they come up with? I refuse to ever see a remake or a sequel again. Why can't they come up with something original?

So what if its a remake? There are TONS of awful "original movies."

Im reading a bio on McQueen right now, which prompted me to do a little
research and find this clip. McQueen "hit that" during the filming...apparently they were carrying on an affair,
so McQueen had the wife and kids stay home and not visit the location.
Allegedly he had affairs with all former co-stars, except 3.

Brad Pitt seems to be the "hollywooded" choice for a remake. With him
attached, the film will most likely be a "hit" and sell the most tickets, DVDs,
PPVs etc. Hopefully they will do justice to the grittiness and realism of
the original, but don't count on that happening. Pitt says that he wants to
do the film cause he likes things that go fast as McQueen did..

"Why can't they come up with something original?"

My take. Because the suits that decide such things are devoid of any imagination and creativity - for the most part.

To increase the chances of a film to make money, they rely on big budget actors, directors, music composers, special effects, car chases, action sequences, explosions, etc. They often use a lot of the above to hide a weak story knowing much of the mass audience doesn't know the difference. Many films today, especially from the big studios, are constructed this way to maximize profits, but it all comes down to the screenplay and how well the director communicates it to the audience, with or without big budget stars.

Bullit sorta falls into that category. The story is a little weak, but the movie ends up a cult favorite due to the chase scenes and the fact it starred McQueen. A "few" comments about the film.

Try counting how many hubcaps fly off during the chase
